Hello everyone. I've been lurking here for a few weeks now:earseek:and am truly impressed by the amount and quality of the info provided by all!!! It pays to be informed before making the decision to join DVC and you folks (soon to be neighbors, I hope) have helped immensely. Thank you!!

Now to my question: Is the $10 per pt. discount at SSR only for the first 150 pts. ? If we buy say 250 pts. would we get the discount for all 250 or only the first 150 with the remaining 100 at full price($89.00/pt.)? Thanks in advance
:)

BTW we contacted DVC 8 days ago to have an info packet sent (already have the video). Does it usually take this long (Wow! a whole 8 days!!!) to receive the info? Man, am I gettin' antsy!! Should I just call our guide (Bernard) to get the ball rolling or is there anything of importance in the packet that we need to see before we go ahead with this?

Welcome to the DIS!

The discount applies to your entire contract.

The delay I am sure is due to the volume of activity for SSR coulpled with the Labor Day holiday. My experience is that they are very responsive. The information is very nice, covers all of their legal requirements for advertising the product and provides great background information about the program. The guides are happy to answer any questions you have. We had many long conversations with our guide.

Good luck!

Thanks JimC

I'd forgotten about the Holiday---makes sense.

Are the interest rates and/or financing options covered in the packet or should I just get off my duff and call good ol' Bernie?:teeth:

The interest rate is 9.75%, but if you are ready to go beyond the "looking for information" stage, just go ahead and call Bernie.

The information packet will provide some basic information, but Bernie can get things rolling as far as the real paperwork. Any other questions can likely be answered right here.

Enjoy! :)

Bernard's our guide, he is good - just give him a call.

Hi BB, we paid our $500 deposit for DVC during our Disney cruise on a Thursday, and our documents came through 6 days later - to the UK! We were really impressed by the quick response. We are due to purchase SSR 250 points and got $10 of per point.
Hope this restores your confidence in DVC.

Just put my deposit down for 200 points at SSR, Bernard is also our guide, call him as often as necessary ( I did!). One thing to remember is the 9.75% interest rate is only if you do direct debit otherwise it is 10.75%. Yes the $10 off per point is for all the points you can buy.
I did not find much more in the packet they sent that wasn't on the video or members website, Bernard can give you the password if he hasn't already, I liked being able to look at all the point charts to see how many I needed. There is 2 examples of the legal documents in the final paperwork so you'll know what you will be signing after you put down your deposit.
Can't wait to get our big Fed ex package and start getting some welcome homes!! Let us know what happens:D

Is there a members site that you need a password to gain entry too ??? If so will that be mailed to me ?:D

Yes, there is a DVC Member's Only website. You will need a password to access a portion of the site and it is found in most of the member publications or you can call your DVC guide for the needed information.

The website itself is found at:

Enjoy the music!! ;)

I recently received information about SSR and the interest rates look like they are 12% for 3 years, 12.5% for 5 years, 13% for 7 years and 13.5 for 10 years (all with direct payment). Am I missing something? The only rates I see this low are the 1 year rates.

pirateparrot,

 I hope someone has some information for you. We just did an add on at BCV and the rate for 10 years was 9.75. The rate for 1 yr was 4.95.

Anyone know what's going on?

We are going to do an add on at SSR but I'm not paying those rates.
