Diana - just wanted to let you know that today was the Baby Shower and your Diaper cake was a big hit - my daughter who is expecting twins in September is already requesting, not 1 but 2 of them. And it went over really big with the new mom-to-be and her family. Thanks again!

Mary by any chance was the shower held in Southgate?

We were at my nephew's baby's 1st birthday party and it was held at a Community Center in Southgate. When we arrived at the building Deanna went in the first door she saw that had people in it and it turned out to be a baby shower. We did finally find the right room for the birthday party.

Cameron is sicker than sick. I'm betting it's that flu that seems to be going around and around. He's insisting that he can go to school - 103 fever and all. I'm actually surprised it's taken this long to hit our house.

I suspect he's a little concerned because we received a letter around Christmas saying that if he missed anymore days of school, he'd need to have a doctors excuse. Well, with Gary not working and us having only major medical, Gary is going to call the school today to figure out how this can be an excused absence without a doctors note.

If they won't approve it, I'm thinking we're taking him to the cheapest doc-in-the-box we can find. I can see those phone calls now - yes, I'd like to know how much you charge to write a note for school? Nope, you don't really have to see my child, it's just a requirement to satify the school, I'm fairly sure he's going to be fine in a couple of days. And, we could have sent him to school, I'm sure that's how it continues to be spread. I guess I'm a little bitter, I'd like to be able to be the parent and decide if my child is sick enough to stay home from school without any boundaries.


Now I wonder, who's next to get it?

Gail - no, that wasn't us - the baby shower was out in Wixom.

Off to get some packing done and get ready to finish up my errands today. Tomorrow, my lil' buddy comes over and then Wednesday morning I'm off to the airport. I will be very happy to leave winter behind for a while.

Will check in when I can and I'll try and bring back some spring weather when I get back.

Sorry I have been a little MIA recently.
I just got all caught up

Happy Belated Erverything!!!!!


Getting settled in the house has kept us pretty busy. We have done alot of painting and are still unpacking some things. We took a quick trip to Long Island during the school break. Conviently it was paid for by NYS since Nick & I basically tagged along with Jeff who had to go down for work.
I will eventually post a picture or two but I'm currently using my work laptop since my computer is having some issues. We seem to have picked up a virus or trojan horse or something so I disconnected from the internet and we are just trying to save my pics and important stuff and hopefully get rid of whatever got in.

I so wish we were taking a trip to sunny Florida some time soon. The weather has been wacky. One day in the 40's the next we have freezing rain and 6 inches of snow! Heck we were sledding down our driveway just last week. (yes it is steep enough and a des\cent length to get in a short run)
I need a vacation!!!!

Congrats to those who deserve it, Happy Everything to those who celebrated something, Hope everyone who was ill is feeling better soon!

That should cover everything that happened while we were in Fla.

We got to see Gail and Carol. Had a great time with them even though it was chilly. Saw the parade from Gails new "secret" spot. We got to see a bunch of the Espn and sports celebrities. I will post a few pics as time allows. I am on a 24 today, and then the FD tomorrow. So it may be friday or so.....

Amy--the cheer video is awesome! It's too bad our squad has a lame-o coach I'd never be able to get our girls to be that good! Our last game is Saturday, Awards Celebration is Sunday and then soccer starts on Thursday. Now soccer is actually something I'll be good at coaching!

Not much going on here, just keeping up with life and all the busy schedules and activities! I'm still sitting here at work waiting for the last patient to be finished, so I can go and pick up my Giordanos stuffed pizza and go home and watch my tivo'd american idol!

Amy - the girls looked great at competition.

I agree with you Diana - very coordinated! Good luck with coaching soccer. It is really fun watching the trail of kids follow the ball all around.

I am so freakin sick of SNOW! We are supposed to get more of that white stuff tonight.

Nick has baseball travel tryouts next weekend and at this rate he will be wearing his snow pants and way to many layers out there. I just do not think his swing will get around. And if it is not freezing then the ground is going to be a marsh. UUUGGH.

We cant have soccer practices either and that starts the beginning of next month.

Wow it has been one whirlwind of a week and I'm glad it's over! It's been so long since I've been on the DIS I had to log in.

Amy the girls routine is really good - cute!

Cindy I will let you know if I come up on a really cheap fare. While at WDW last week we ran into a family we know from soccer and the fares out of Detroit that week were running $400 +, but they got a $49 each way fare out of Columbus, Ohio so they drove down and flew out of there. The things people will do to get to Disney

Steve it was fun seeing you and Coleen - glad you like the new secret spot. It was a fluke that I found it the Sunday before when I was there with Diana and the girls.
