that i posted yesterday. i forgot to update my title yesterday

trivia for the day...

when in france, you will notice that you do not see birds ever landing ont he tower, well that is because they use deteriants to keep them away.

the deteriant is a thing found in concord grapes, methyl anthranilate, birds hate and wont go near it.

who would have known.

:confused3

in GB people were taxedon the square footage that touched the ground, so you will notice that the shops on the left hand side, have overhangs that not only provide shelter, but also increase the square footage of the building up above

the large rock between canada and UK opens up just prior to the show starting to reveal a 12 foot tall pole for lights and speakers to use during the show.

fuel burn off:

this takes place each night after illuminations between 10-10:30 makes it look like the barge is exploding.

Mmmmmm, I'm thinking we all need to have a meet (THE WHOLE CLAN OF US) at someone's house and everyone bring their favorite thing to cook! You all can come to Texas! :yay: I would love for you all to come and have good fellowship and food, over the course of say....like a three day weekend?!? Spring break is always a good time to come and play in Texas....I'm just sayin.

And afterwards, you can each retreat to your own havens of "relief", if you know what I mean. :rolleyes1 One can only imagine what might come of a party such as this. :rotfl2:

It'd look like just what Dan mentioned....fuel burn off after Illuminations.

Chapter 10. Does it happen to everyone?

There seems to come a time when writing these reports especially during the PreTR phase of things, when you sit there and think does this happen to everyone. You know the point where you feel like you have nothing to share about your trip, because you already did.

You have your introduction you tell about yourself and your fellow trip goers, you share when your going, where your staying.

then you have that dinning phase, did that, confired we are buffet freaks.

go over your list for a while, then plan your park days and what you will do in those.

then you have the shopping and the clothes you will wear.

but then what.

like me i was pumped and wanted to start my report to get the trip here faster, and it worked these last 2 months flew by, we are down to 4 months away.

now it happens, you have the dreaded feeling that you have nothing else to say about your trip right now.

i have been doing the trivia, but people are seeming less interested in that right now, so i thought i would mix it up.

so the first person to respond back to this post will get to come along with us free of charge, and have some fun, fauntleroy style.

just kidding, i thought i would take you guys down a trip of memory lane.

there are many lanes, you can take, past trips growing up, our trips together as a couple, parkers first trip.

or i went to complete other direction, sorry guys, i know the men will be bored, but the ladies might enjoy it, the lane that i chose was candi and I's story of engagment and wedding for you all, which of course led into our disney honeymoon.:cloud9:

we back up to the night before my college graduation, we are hanging out at candis apartment with my parents, her parents, and my sister and her husband.

i get a call from my buddy, that he has a present he wants to give to us before we graduate, he says to meet him back on campus by the stadium.

so me and the little lady jump in the car, and head over,

we park and start walking toward the stadium we are approacing a little bridge over a creek that runs through campus, and there are candles all over it, she says i wonder what is going on over there, ( i had to think fast, and said) i dont know maybe some sort of seance or something,

we get closer and i stop her in the middle of the bridge.

i start to talk about a few things, like asking her if she remember this was the location that we first sad we love you to each other, other good times we had at this area, things we have done in school, and so forth, then i get down and start to ask her if she will marry me and a few other lines, well she starts crying and pulls her hands up to her face, and is looking up, i finish and hear nothing, i ask her if she has an answer for me, and get her attention, she of course is beyond excited, and starts jumping and says yes and gives me her hand to put the ring on.

my buddy shows up he was watching from his car to make sure that everything stayed put, he set it all up for me.

we head back to her apartment, and the entire family is thrilled, no one knew except for my dad. he helped me pick out the ring, and brought it down to me that weekend.

i know alot of people like to ask permission from the father in law, but i passed up on that converstation, because for the last year he had been asking when we were getting married, plus he cant keep a secret so i knew it would get out.

candi said the best thing was she had no clue it would happen then because it was about me that weekend with my graduation, and everyone was focused on that.

okay time for some pictures to break up this post a little bit.

here are the some of engagment pictures we had taken with our wedding photographer.

IMG_0131.jpg

we took about 50-60 of these nice staged pictures, they looked nice, but they are not our style, so he goes we are done, i say no were not, lets get some fun pictures.

i do this, pick candi up without her knowing i am going to.

IMG_0251.jpg

then i pretend to drop her,
IMG_0252.jpg

she was not expecting that at all.

coming up i will also share some pictures from our wedding ceremony, and reception, it was a really good time.

and then trasfer into other events.

hope you guys enjoyed this breaking up of the action.

I think I'm first and yes I want my free trip!

Joking aside, I loved your engagement story. Yes I'm a sappy female.

Thanks for sharing.

congrats wait for the information in the mail to arrive, it will have everything you need.
:goodvibes

she actually still has the same candles and candle holders in a bag saved, and we lite them on special occations, not wanting the candles to dissapear, we have saved them more now, maybe bring them out on every 5 year anniversary now.

Great story. Great pictures. You're a lucky man, Dan FauntleroyFAN07!

I skipped the whole conversation with the future father-in-law too. We had dated for so long everyone was asking when we'd get married, we'd looked at rings and the whole bit, so I thought an eventual engagement was pretty much expected (and it was). But still, later on Judy told me her dad was a little disappointed that I had not talked to him. And now, as a father of teenage girls, I see that it is not such an old-fashioned idea after all.

That is a really sweet story! Your pictures are really cute. The "fun" ones were my favorites. I know what you mean about PTR's being challenging sometimes. I haven't been writing nearly enough on mine as I should be.

Great story faunt

Love the funny pics :rotfl:

Looking foward to more :goodvibes

Looove the story. :cloud9: It made me misty. I like that you have friends with hearts as big as your own to help you out with the whole set up.
I'm with you on the being concerned on whether or not you have enough to say in the report, a small part of why I'm hesitant to start one. Probably won't stop me later on though. ;)
I know your doing a good job, everyone else knows your doing a good job, so just keep with it, let go of what everyone else is thinking and just have a good time! :woohoo:
Besides, someone else needs to keep us entertained while the four stooges go to The World.
Bt the way, I like the idea of you going back to old trips or reporting on your honeymoon trip, it would be a nice way to make this stretch out for another few months. Even things that are happening in your daily life are good to. Liesa comments on those thigns all the time, so does Jordy. Your doing great, just go with what your heart tells you. It's served you well this far, look at your incredible wife!! :woohoo:

that sounds like a fun trip on the plane.

:rolleyes1 I'll say. I was actually getting to stay in FL. for free and go WDW for free, so I can't complain totally, once I was there I didn't even remember this, actually right up until right before telling it. I'm blessed with being able to let things go pretty easily.

and a trip to texas does sound fun, but it would be a long three day weekend, with driving and all.
Those who have to travel furthest can stay a while, I just thought I would throw a number out there. ;)

your brats sound really good, i want to get a table top smoker this spring for cooking, just need to find a good one, that wont break the bank.
They are good! I'm thinking I might need to make these this weekend, it's suppose to clear up and be a nice weekend. :goodvibes

I wonder what it is exactly, wonder if we can get some, we have these dang grackles that are a pain to have around your house or business.

in GB people were taxedon the square footage that touched the ground, so you will notice that the shops on the left hand side, have overhangs that not only provide shelter, but also increase the square footage of the building up above
This is pretty cool! I always wondered why they built the way they did.

fuel burn off:

It's so loud you almost pee your pants if your any where close to it. I won't tell you how I know. :rolleyes1 They also make you slip out a word you don't normally use. :scared:

And afterwards, you can each retreat to your own havens of "relief", if you know what I mean. :rolleyes1 One can only imagine what might come of a party such as this. :rotfl2:
I have four extra bedrooms for people who can't stay in a hotel. :rolleyes1 Liesa, you get first dibs. My in laws own a house a couple doors over that they stay in when their in town, so it's empty for a guest when you come, so you can truly retreat to your own haven! I think we could have a pretty good time with this group. Maybe we can even convince G.B. and Traci to come down for a day. :goodvibes

It'd look like just what Dan mentioned....fuel burn off after Illuminations.

Hence why my in-laws have their own house to go to after I cook for them! :rotfl:
Hmmm, I guess that make me look bad in a couple of ways. :rotfl: Oh who cares! With my DH, y'all will be in good company!! :rotfl2:
Did I really put that on a board?!?

A little late to the party but I'm joining anyway!

I started reading your last trip report because I was looking around for information on taking a younger child to Disney World. Our next trip to WDW (the second for the fiance and myself) we decided to take everyone with us, so my parents, his dad and dad's girlfriend, our best friends who went with us last May, and my sister, her boyfriend, and their baby- my niece! She'll be 8 months when we go this May.

ANYWAY, just wanted to say in my roundabout way that I'm enjoying your updates and you have a very lovely family!! :thumbsup2

thanks bud, i think the main reason i did not say anything is becaues he really can not keep a secret, even if he did not tell her he would have been smiling the whol enight and giving weird looks at everyone.
Great proposal story, very romantic!
thank you very much

i also thought it would be a good way to break things up a little and give you guys something different on the preTR

They are good! I'm thinking I might need to make these this weekend, it's suppose to clear up and be a nice weekend. :goodvibes
