Squirts, Shirts, & Flirts...The Legend Continues (TR started 6-23)

another update on previous page as well.

Chapter 9. A Christmas Story

I am sorry for the delay in this update, i finally got all the pictures from my dad that i needed for it.

We had to do our christmas with them on the 23rd, because my BIL was on shift the 24th

And normally christmas is held upstairs in the living room, well this is my parents presents for each other,

You add that with this,

and there is not enough room

So it was moved downstairs into there other family room.
Here is a straigh on shot, normally there is atable there, but they used a spare tree for this event.

and the three grandchildren

my sister asked me if they could give parker and extra gift besides what they bought him...i was like sure whatever floats your boat...she said now it did not cost us anything we got it from scott, her husbands sister.

i said okay turned out it was a ton of tomas the train stuff

DSC08152.jpg

all of these trains, plus under that was a huge box full of tracks and more cars...if you bought them in the store easily over 200 dollars, we were pumped and so was parker, they are his favorite.

candi sporting her new colts gear.

and then his big present from my parents was a train table to put all of his new tracks on.

DSC08189.jpg

he could not wait for us to open it up and play with it.
DSC08193.jpg

we started opeing presents around 2:30 and were done at 5:00

it was time for dinner

this tradition started as long ago as i can remember we would have fondue with my grandparents at there house for our christmas eve dinner

if you are not aware of what it is or have never done it before. this is what it looks like

DSC08214.jpg

we always have some sort of cheese potato with it.

notice parkers mickey head plate

so the meal, you take meat, marinade it, (my mom does this in a soy sauce, italian dressing mixture) for usually 2 days.

then you put it on the stick and cook it in the pot.

we used to use oil, but that is very fattening for you, and it made your clothes and house smell like it for about a week afterwards.

so a few years ago we switched to beef stock, a little better for you does not take away the flavor and does not smell your clothes up or the house.

it takes a maybe 3 or 4 minutes for your meat to cook all the way through especially with eveyrone cooking at the same time...so it can be a long meal depending how much you eat.

i am usually the last one eating, i dont eat alot of the other food becaues i love the meat so much and my brother in law recently turned over to my side we take down the beef at this meal.

so everyone was done he had his pot i had mine, i also collected everyone elses forks...and used em on my side of the table.

this was my last batch cooking, all of those are mine.
:goodvibes

here is alittle video when he first got in there.

he thought of putting the balls in the holes right away, we did not even think of it, and he does not stop til has a spot for each one...

then that afternoon we went to my grandmas house on my dads side for gifts and unch there.

then made the trek to candis side for dinner and the weekend...

we had a great time and are very thankful for all the great things we have gotten this year.

hope you guys enjoyed it.

Looks like a fantastic time was had by all!

The matching "cool guy" jackets: :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Great pix bro.

The broth fondue has a name in Japan. It's called shabu shabu. My mom used to do it all the time!

Parker in the little bouncy is cute (can guys use the word cute?)

I like how he's sticking the plastic balls in the hole.

go colts==beat the jets.

i love it also, but we only seem to have it 1 time a year, we need to make it more often

I'm trying to lose weight, but having no luck with avoiding french fries at the moment

That's right!
me and a guy i work with are have a weight loss challenge right now,
we have 100 days to lose our weight then we weigh in again.

They even have Shabu Shabu restaurants here in SoCal.

Thanks for the Man Code advice.
we have one close to use, but kinda pricey....might take candi there for a nice evening sometime.

she just wants to get the stuff now in case our next child is a girl so she has it all.

we are waiting about 1 more year before we have anohter one, want them to be spread out a little bit.

Yeah, they really do break the bank, those trains :rotfl:

Just checking :goodvibes

I haven't been to either of the places you mentioned at AK. However, by looking at the menu and by the food reviews I have read I would go with Yak and Yeti. The ribs are suppose to be really good.

Christmas looks like a blast with your family! Fondue is so good. I have never done it at home but last year we went to a place (kind of near your hometown) called Cafe Fondue. It was really good! Collecting the dolls is a sweet idea. Parker as usual is adorable! :goodvibes

i've never eaten at yak & yeti nor at tusker house for lunch or dinner, but we had breakfast (with donald, mickey, daisy and goofy) there last trip and the food was REALLY good!

great christmas pictures! wow....lots of presents. jackpot on the thomas the train stuff....that stuff isn't cheap! and super cute mickey jackets!

Whoa!!!!! I just now found this PTR and I need to catch up!
But, oh, hey Dan!!!!! :goodvibes
