Great story. Great pictures. You're a lucky man, Dan FauntleroyFAN07!
I agree!
I skipped the whole conversation with the future father-in-law too. We had dated for so long everyone was asking when we'd get married, we'd looked at rings and the whole bit, so I thought an eventual engagement was pretty much expected (and it was). But still, later on Judy told me her dad was a little disappointed that I had not talked to him. And now, as a father of teenage girls, I see that it is not such an old-fashioned idea after all.
We were in our late 30s when we got engaged and were already living together - plus I had been married before, so my DH didn't ask either. In fact, I didn't even call to tell my family, I just showed up for dinner at my parents' one night with an engagement ring on. I was alone because my now-DH came over a little later straight from work. I spent an entire hour with my dad and he didn't even notice the ring - nor did my mom, but she was cooking. Of course when my sister and her family came over, she noticed right away! Then when my DH got there, my dad, BIL, and 6-ish year old at the time nephew took him out on the front porch for a "talk."
I wish I had a picture of his face as he went out; really they just wanted to congratulate us.

Good idea to send the baby back with the parents, it would probably scare the bejeebers out of him.
(you can fit like six cars on it), I told him to ask about it because it was for sale a few weeks back, he did and they sold it in a matter of a few months and now they have a house two doors over.
Did I just say that out loud?!?

glad you are joining us.

They also make you slip out a word you don't normally use.
I have been enjoying the trivia, just can't remember much of the places - guess I need to take notes and follow your trail of clues next trip!
You just made me cry sweet happy tears, you just totally made my day!!! I'm so praying your foot is feeling better.
