Squirts, Shirts, and Flirts, The Legend Continues 2 weeks in FW(wrap up #2 new 11-17)

Hi Dan & Candi!!

I've been reading along while on vacation in Texas. Just wanted to say so sorry about the rude kids! Sheeze! some people. :sad2:

We did velcro Frogs, I just thought that whole area was a blast.

I cry too when I get off The Land, so Parker isn't alone. :rotfl::rotfl:

GreatBiscut: Holy mackrel!!! YUM!!! That looked so good!!!!

Caught up!

I like that everyone ended up in light blue that day. You all looked good in that color! :thumbsup2 How fun that Parker got to feed a duck before going to the parks. That is too funny about you getting "felt up" by the girl next to you on Soarin'. What Candi said made me laugh out loud. :rotfl:

UGH!!! I would have been really irritated by those boys too. Especially that mom! GRRRR!! Yeah, I'd have to say that margarita that Candi got was well deserved! I would have had to do the same.

Totally understand that about sharing food with underappreciative food bufoons! If you're going to make the effort to do up something really quality, you want those who can savour it's tasty goodness with finesse and thankfulness, right??

first off sorry about no update on friday, i had to play in a golf outing that lasted till about 7:00 that night, but dont worry no drinking was involved;)
:drinking1

i just made up 20 more quart jars this weekend...i did a few of them as hot ones with peppers and jalapenos in it, it is pretty good nice flavor but not to spicy.

i will bring a jar to the next family event with the immediate family.

they will all like it.

Did I miss an update? I am reading about Parker crying after getting off of the Land and somebody feeling you up on Soarin? I've gone back to check, but it looks like the last update was those pesky teenagers and the not-so-concerned mother (to put it nicely).

Great update! I'm anxious to read the next update and find out if the lessons learned you mentioned were painful. Hopefully not! ;)

You know... a lot of your groupies are getting together in DC on the 29th of Aug. I'm sure you would have a grateful pickle audience there if you and Candi could make it! I know Indiana is a ways away, but hey, you never know- never hurts to ask... :goodvibes

Loved the video on test track! It made me sorry DS (6) didn't get to try it, though. He'd have loved it! I think it's great that Candi has that reaction each time!

Sorry about the rude people! Unfortunately, I run into my fair share of rude parents (and kids) as a teacher. I agree - the parents are the worst...but it does explain the kids' behavior. That's acceptable in their world, so why should they change? :sad2: I think my kids pay for it with how much I pound manners into their heads. All I can think about is how they're NOT going to be one of "those kids"!!!

okay, so i *finally* am starting your TR. sorry i'm so late. looking forward to it though!

i just got through the first update. so glad that tire didn't blow near you! and also glad it wasn't while you guys were doing 70 down the interstate. that would've have been fun, either.

parker is getting so big! he's such a cutie.

good job on the running! :thumbsup2 my plan after i have the baby is to not worry about dieting through the holidays because it's just impossible, then start fresh after the new year and have a goal set to do the 5K at disney next october when we take seth on his first trip. i think if i have that hanging over my head, i'll be motivated enough to stick to a plan.

i'll be back later to do more reading!

yep i tihnk so, there is links to the updates on the first page, i believe the chapter you are missing is the one titled, felt up on soarin.

Great update! I'm anxious to read the next update and find out if the lessons learned you mentioned were painful. Hopefully not! ;)
working on it right now, sorry it took so long to get back to writing, been very busy, hardly have to time catch up on other threads.

really, i would really enjoy that but i have used up most of my vacation time this year...only have a day or so left...just weekend trips for us the rest of the year.

i still have to try and make it to the indy dis meet which is only 2 hours away for us.

it is funny, she loves that ride, and turns her into a kid again on it.

yep sometimes it would be good to give them a time out or a swat.

hey not a problem, i know you have alot of stuff going on, glad you are able to read and respond now.

that is a good idea, since you wont want to or feel like running for a while after you have him as it is.

but a good goal for you that is for sure, i didnt know they have a 5K during october, i thought it was just hte marathons at jan/feb that they have...where does the 5K go through? we are going in october of 2012 maybe we could plan it around the 5K

Chapter 10. Important Lessons + PMS

well well it has been about a week since an update and i am sorry, every time i went to do one, something came up...so lets get back to it shall we.

we last left off, with a bridge up in our face and not able to cross...so we mossy on past norway with a 40 minute stand by wait, are you serious.

and get fast passes for later on...which for some reason no one else sees them or is getting them so the return time is only an hour away from the actual time we are right now.

and we still have time to kill before we have our dinner reservations at germany so we decide to try and get parker to take a nap, where to but american adventure.

but not without stopping at the trains first for parker.
DSC01564.jpg

he could have stayed there and watched those all day long, he was in heaven

now it was on to american adventure.

we were hoping parker would do good when the lights went out, last year he started crying and we could not get him to calm down, so this year he hopped on my lap got comfy and i talked to him as the lights went down about stuff that was happening.
DSC01569.jpg

he was doing good and within minutes he was out...he slept the whole show and didnt wake up until we were halfway down the exit.

with a rested parker, and our bellies rumbing it was time for dinner.
DSC00883.jpg

germany and its endless aray of sausage and kraute and goodness was awaiting us.
we were on the top teir of seating and had the area all to ourselves for most of the dinner, we did not have to worry about anyone sitting next to us with 6 empty tables up there, so we sat back and relaxed.
DSC00888.jpg

parker actually ate pretty good hear, he liked the food and ate the normal amount that he usuallydoes at meal time so that was good, candi on the other hand is not a big german type food person and said she could do without it next trip.
DSC00891.jpg

here is mine, i loved it all, i really liked the top item that was a pork/or chicken/ not sure, with the spatzle and gravy over it.
DSC00893.jpg

the meat on the bottom was very good as well, i think it was the saurbraten...there was also a shreaded beef that was rolled up in a sausage casing in a brown gravy that was awesome...pretty much this is what my there plates looked like, we are part german and the food was awesome i loved it all.
DSC01574.jpg

after dinner me, parker, nana, and papa, headed back to use our norway fast passes, while candi hung out at ther germany pavilian to wait on the glasses we were having personalized for us, and a suprise gift for my parents for the trip.
DSC00894.jpg

it was a good ride, i ended up bypassing the movie with parker and let mom and dad stay to watch it.

here we are trying to sneak up on candi relaxing and waiting for us.
DSC00899.jpg

we then continued on down around the countries, telling my parents we did not care to go on the movies at any of them and that we were heading on to future world again to do some things for parker.

so on the way we end up seeing belle and stop for a picture, well when it is parkers turn he grabs his autograph book from candi and goes to about 3 feet from belle and slides/throws it on the ground to her, then grabs the pen and throws it over at her feet as well.

we all start laughing and she assures him she does not have anything wrong with her.

so he grabs candis hand and walks over to her.
Photo0063.jpg

while she is finding the page to sign after he through it, she starts to chat him about his shirt.
side note: i love how little kids stand and push out there stomachs and chests, it cracks me up.

Photo0065.jpg

this gets parkers attention since it is mater on his shirt, she says that they are good friends and she visits them at his garage at MGM all the time.
okay i guess she is not thta bad he is thinking i will take a picture with her.
Photo0067.jpg

then he goes and gives her a big hug when he is ready to leave, she won him over for sure.
Photo0071.jpg

it is now time to leave the parental units and we head to figment since parker liked it so much last time.

while the parents head off to watch the canada, and france movie.

well remember how i told you to remember how parker had to sit really close to papa last time on figment...well

as soon as the car started to move, and we turned to look at the screens parker moved fast, and looked all over the car, and kept saying papa, papa, well he remembered papa road that with him earlier in the day, and started bawling, not just a cry, i mean a bawl, where he was screaming papa, over and over and every other papa was a silent one that hard crying, he wanted him so bad, candi couldnt even calm him down and normally mama works every time to calm him down. we felt really bad for the other people on the ride but what are you going to do, jump out of the car and get it to stop in the middle...we were stuck for the next 2-3 minutes working on him.

there is a lesson learned there, just not sure what it was?
where was papa during this he was here, not sure where this was but they took a picture of it while they were away from us.
DSC01581.jpg

so we finally got him calmed down and he said he wanted to see the fish again, so we head to crush and take him to the big tanks so he can watch the fish swim by.
DSC00904.jpg

he loved this, and even had a little fish that swam next to the window back and forth down by his leg and moved where parker moved for a good 15 minutes.

you can see the little fish right there.

we talked with my parents and decided to meet at TT so we could ride it with our FP tickets once before the illuminations was to start then they would ride it while we found seats...we got there first so we went to the exit area and let him play in the cars he loved pretending he was driving while candi bounced around in the back seat acting like he was going off road, it was hilarious.
DSC00905.jpg

so we road TT again,
Photo0079.jpg

while nana papa and parker went to mouse gears and got a spinning light up buzz.
lets see parker can u show us how that works...

this will be in parkers mind since he did not tell us this, but i image this is how it went in his brain.

parker thinks" first you hold it like this and then squeeze his legs together and he spins"
DSC01583.jpg

me thinks" ohh thats cool i like that"

parker thinks"but make sure you dont pick it up to high and bring it too close."

DSC01586.jpg

me thinks"you should prob have let go of his feet the first time it spun around and smacked you in the head not the 4th."

parker thinks" i think ill put buzz like this, safe distance from my head and my arms wont get tired from holding it."

DSC01587.jpg

the funny thing was he actually thought of that all himself, and we thought it was pretty darn smart of him as well.

so this lesson learned will be what parker learned.

Lesson learned: dont hold spinning buzz close to head

now it is time for me, candi, and parker to find a seat for illuminations while papa and nana ride TT. so we start our journey around WS and end up getting past mexico, where we find a lady sitting and having some room next to the railing we ask if she is going to use it she says nope but just the 1 spot is available for us, we say not worries we just want to push my little guys stroller up there and we will stand behind him.

well i have been telling parker all day that we get some popcorn for the show...he is excited and i say i will be right back, so walking over to mexico i did not see any popcorn on the way so i take off the other way toward more countries...i see beer carts hmm tempting but nope on a mission for popcorn for son, and only 25 minutes to show time, (cutting it close ) so i make it past 2 and find no popcorn, so i think ahh i know ill head back the other way past mexico and look there by that shop they had it the year before.

so i head back that way candi sees me i wave...(20 minutes to show time)
getting down there, i make it to the the hub right in front of WS and the ball, and see that the popcorn cart i got it in the past is closed down, ohh man you gotta be kidding me, well only 1 option left (15 minute announcment came on)

keep walking and keep looking, i finally find a cart that is selling it over by the pathway that goes to figment...and there is a line, not just a few people but like 20 ohhh great, lets get moving people order and leave...well we get down to a 10 minute warning till show time.

i am a few people away and the line is not moving as fast as I want...well i see that there are trainees working the windown, oh come on dont do this to me trainees at your busiest time of the day..oh well, i say large suveniour popcorn please (they came in buzz lightyear ones this trip) i knew parker would love it, well they pour it in a regular container, the one lady sees it and dumps it into the souveniour bucket, i get a call from my dad as i am leaving the stand asking where we are, i tell him and put the lid on the bucket and take off...

i am down to about 5 minutes to make it back what took me about 10 to speed walk on the way there. i take off running, not wanting parker to miss his popcorn for the show and not have me there when it starts.

well needless to say i dogged and darted through people not hitting a one of them and made it back just as they started to turn the lights down...and guess what as soon as parker saw me, with some dripping sweat and candi looks at me like what the heck took you so long, parker says

dada haha and starts laughing at me from being all sweaty,

lesson learned: i will continue to do anything for that little man that makes him happy when i hear that little voice so excited to see me after only a 30 minute popcorn mission.

and you know what he ate 3 pieces of popcorn out of the bucket.

my parents arrived shortly after i did.

a few pics of the show since most of you know what it is.
DSC01592.jpg

and as soon as the fireworks started parker got scared and wanted to leave, well i picked him up and held him still hot and sweating and not helping me cool off any, and explained to him what was happening in the show and he then liked it.

after the show, it was game time, if you guys have read along with me on other TR's then you know that candi has PMS when leaving the park. (i hope no one is affended by us calling it that, that is what candi referes to it by, so i felt it was okay to keep calling it that)

its not what you think she dubbed it this on our honeymoon, it stands for
people manuvering skills...that wife of mine works like a highly skilled ninja going in and out of people getting through the smallest opening and somehow even though we are in the middle or back of parks, ends up getting to the bus stop as the first person with no one in front of us each time.

well she decided to pass it along to me this trip, i had the stroller and she gave me her powers the power of the PMS.(huh, maybe i should change the chapter of this one, hold on) okay chapter changed...

so i start off, they are holding onto my shirt in the back so now i not only have to look ahead and see where i can fit parkers stroller through, but also wonder ifit will allow a trailing group of 3 others behind me to squeeze in as well without cutting the chain.

needless to say we make it up to the fountain area with ease, and did not lose a single person. they are still hanging on and we have moved up a good amount of people

i get my next batch of people to go around and nana and papa cut loose from the train, no time to stop they can catch up, they are not skilled in the art of PMS or at least candi did not bestow her powers onto them for the entire exit of the park.

I continue to make my way, seeing a crowd take there way through the manned turnstiles, i take the unmaned ones that are open to the left hand side, and fly right by the groups of people and see our bus stop ahead, empty, parents are now hot on the trail, and we get to the bus stop and have 1 family ahead of us, a nuts, not the first but i will take it.

i would say it was a successful PMS mission for my first time..i learned well from watching candi over the years.

back at the camper, parker is ready for bed and knocked out within 5 minutes of laying down..it is time for showers...

and the most important lesson i learned the whole trip.

so i get my stuff ready to take my shower bag in hand, still a little warm from the day we had...and decide hey boxes are like shorts just a little smaller and its late 11:00 no one will be out...and we are just across the street from the showers.

so i take off in my boxers with shower bag in tow.

lesson learned: it is a nice to take a stroll to showers in your skivvies and let your body temp cool off some late at night.

i make it to the main road and look left nothing, look right nothing and continue across...i hear a rumble...i look right...i see headlights.

lesson learned: u are never fully alone while walking out at disney. a bus full of people from MK can come around the corner at any moment catching you in there headlights in your skivvies.

so the bus brakes for me, i get across the street and still wondering how that happened, when i forget that the bus stop is right there...oh great.

lesson learned: when people who are on bus catch you in your skivvies and proceed to get off said bus at bus stop right next to, and you get a few whistles it is best to hold off embarrasment and just wave to the crowd and keep on walking quickly to the shower.

so it was an experience but a funny one to say the least, and on future nights i wore actual shorts while walking to the shower house. when i got back i told candi of the story she rolled her eyes at me and just smiles.

i can be thankful that i wasnt wearing the boxers that sometimes open up and give you an eyefull. :rotfl: without you knowing it...that is another story that happened at olive garden, that i will have to share another time. well if someone asks then i will share it.

so it was a fun day, first full day in the parks was over, and we did alot of stuff, we did all of our favorite at epcot, ate at a new restraunt, had some good character time, got handled at soarin, and candi almost handed a few kids there heads...nice little jog around WS for popcorn and threw caution to the wind on the way to my shower.

yep that about covers it i would say.

Great Update Dan !!!I am asking ?????:rotfl2:Can't be any more embarassing than when Winkers added an "N" to dog !!!:lmao::lmao:

Great update! I love that picture of all of you at Biergarten. Parker looks so grown up in that one.

Glad that Parker has some lessons learned too -- keeping spinning buzzes away from your head.

My oldest daughter is the best in our family at People Maneuvering Skills. I used to be good, but she has eclipsed me. Being so skinny helps. That's probably what gives Candi the edge too.

And last but not least, your trip to the shower house. Oh my! :sad2: Just when you thought it was safe, along comes a bus. :rotfl:

So....about Olive Garden?

I like all the pictures of Biergarten. I'm looking forward to going there. I've heard great things about the food. I hope I like it!

Such a cute picture of Parker hugging Belle!

:rotfl: Nice way to end the day!

Lets see

That was hilarious that Parker threw his book and pen at her feet..love it :rotfl2: Glad he warmed up to her in the end.

I am with Candi. Biergarten is not my favorite either. I only like the pretzel bread. Trent hated it in there and held his ears the entire time.

Forgot all about the PMS skills, I am pretty good at that in MK :cool1: Good job almost being first

That is a riot about boxers and the bus :lmao:

Wonderful LONG update! So much to comment on.

I wasn't trilled with Biergarten either. It was just okay for me on the food. I did enjoy the atmosphere and entertainment.

The pictures of Parker with Belle made me tear up. So sweet!

What a great Daddy to go to such lengths for popcorn!

Kudos to you on your PMS skills.

I loved the shower run story. I'm picturing the deer in headlights looks right now.

I vote to hear the Olive Garden story.

but a good goal for you that is for sure, i didnt know they have a 5K during october, i thought it was just hte marathons at jan/feb that they have...where does the 5K go through? we are going in october of 2012 maybe we could plan it around the 5K

here's a great website that lists all the races at disney world:

http://disneyrunning.com/

with all of them (i think) where they have either a marathon or half-marathon, they also have sort of a "family fun 5K" for people (like me) that can't hang with the marathoners! the one i'm doing is connected with the wine & dine half-marathon and is called Mickey's Halloween Family Fun Run 5K and goes through MK.

one of ray's co-workers did the half-marathon last year and he said they have a kids race for any participants' children and that his kids had a blast doing that, there were characters out there and everything. i told him seth would probably be too little in october 2011 (he'll be just over a year) and he said no, that they had little ones out there, too. as long as they could somewhat walk!

Parker and Belle. So dang sweet.
He only ate 3 pieces of popcorn after all that searching? :rotfl2::rotfl2:
Kudos to the PMS, Hubby marvels at my skills too.

You must spill the Olive Garden story... Why, oh why, were you in your boxers at OG? :rotfl::rotfl:

okay, so i *finally* am starting your TR. sorry i'm so late. looking forward to it though!

and we still have time to kill before we have our dinner reservations at germany so we decide to try and get parker to take a nap, where to but american adventure.

My DD4 fell asleep there sitting up in a chair!

here is mine, i loved it all, i really liked the top item that was a pork/or chicken/ not sure, with the spatzle and gravy over it.

I never have eaten there either. Maybe have to put that on my list of to eats. Ps. I have a little German in me too

then he goes and gives her a big hug when he is ready to leave, she won him over for sure.

Too cute

so this lesson learned will be what parker learned.

Lesson learned: dont hold spinning buzz close to head

Good lesson Parker. In the picture you can see his little scrapped up knees from when he fell

lesson learned: i will continue to do anything for that little man that makes him happy when i hear that little voice so excited to see me after only a 30 minute popcorn mission.

I feel the same about my kids

and you know what he ate 3 pieces of popcorn out of the bucket.

Great update as always

Hello! Just found your TR. Your family is great!! I just loved your little stories about Parker - you seem very patient with him (telling him what's going on while he is upset.) Such a good daddy to get him popcorn...even if only for 3 bites. I loved the Belle part so much that I told my DH (he doesn't DIS.) and we thought of our boys doing that. Too cute!

Looking forward to more!
