if your ready here we go.
we had our doctors appointment, on monday afternoon, candi was still slowly progressing, at 3cm.
she went home i went back to work.
she called me at 3 and said she had been having contractions about 6 minutes apart for the last two hours, nothing bad, she just knew they were there.
around 4, i was home and started timing them with her, and they were down to 4 minutes.
i made parker dinner, grabbed something for myself, (she wasnt hungry), called the grandparents and told them that hte baby would be here that night...to make preparations.
about 5, they were getting a little more intense, so i called my sister and met up with her at the fire station where she was with my BIL and her kids having his birthday dinner, while he was on shift.
she said drop parker off.
my BIL was happy when i drove away with candi in tow, as it meant he didnt have to deliver the baby or answer the call.
the other guys working said they would have gladly delivered it.
after the whole getting things in the car meeting my sister, we made to the hospital at about 5:30, and candis doctor, meet us on the baby floor, she said, i think we better get you to a room.
she checked her shortly after and she was at 6 cms...after 6 she was ready to rock and roll, and after 3 pushes, our little girl was born at 6:08pm
they weighed and measured her, and had candi start bonding with her....she didnt even get cleaned up for at least 2 hours after she was born.
will she was in labor, the lab tech came in and asked her doctor what she wanted her to do, she said take her blood, the lab lady so theres no way i can stick her with a needle when one contraction stops her next one starts within 10 seconds.
so that was passed up, we didnt even get through all the normal questions and answer period you have when you check into the hospital.
since it was still early, my sister brought parker to the hospital so he could be the first one to see his little sister.
and he was very excited.
getting ready to hold her
and helping hold her for the first time.
a close up picture of noelle. with her new knitted hat that the hospital angel organization made and they give one to each newborn...hers was one of a kind as the nurses said they were wondering who would get the one that noelle did and were glad she had it....the other ones were flat and did not have the extra poofs to it.
and one of parker to compare them.
a four generation picture on my dads side.
and a four generation on my moms side.
the hospital has a celebration dinner, or lunch depending on when you want it....you have many things to select for your dinner....i had the steak, tators....veggies, salad, roll, german chocolate cake, wine and milk.
candi had the chicken tator, veggie, salad, roll, milk, and sparkling juice.
it is a nice dinner to have before you head home.
i was emotional when parker was born, but dont remember being as emotional as i was with her...when we would take walks around the hospital floor with her, to get candi some excercise, i would get a good lump in my through when i passed the birth suite on the floor. and we passed her room a few times, i can neither confirm nor deny that ithappened each time.

(one half of the floor is birthing suites, which are bigger than two normal hospital rooms, the bathroom is about as big as a normal hospital room just on its own, so really about the size of 3 hospital rooms)...the other half of the floor is the nursery rooms you transfer to after you have the baby.
lets talk about coincidence shall we....
the day after parker was born, you may remember the story when there was the earthquake in southern illinous that we felt shake our beds while sleeping that night....well lets fast forward a few years.
the day after noelle was born, we were by the side of her bed, and her rocker that she was sitting in was moving and she was not moving it, i said no it isnt, i stood up and it felt like i was some beers into a friday night and had a good buzz going on. we both looked at each other and said was that an earthquake....we turned on the chicago news, and within a minute the weather guy came on and said that they were getting tweets in, and there was an earthquake on the east coast. i take that as a sign that both our kids are going to do great things and are going to continue to do things to shake up the earth...i told them both after it happened that they can do anything they want and will make an impact in this life...i was an even more proud dad that day.
moving on to coming home.
all buckled up and ready to roll.
snuggle time at home in her bassinet.
i have heard that babies can not smile for a while after they are born, maybe a few weeks at least until they get strong muscles.
i call noelle my chunky monkey since she is a little round ball right now...and while i was playing with her on the couch yesterday and tickling her ribs...she kept laughing at me, and candi got a picture of it. even has a little dimple going on there.
we also had our first family walk, and parker was right by her side the whole time.
so thanks for reading along, and i hope everyone has a good weekend, i know we will continue to enjoy the family time.
thanks for reading along and hope everyone enjoyed it.
