CONGRATULATIONS guys on your precious baby girl!!!

Im sorry to hear about Candi's grandfather - I've had a lot of family loss this year, but having those precious babies near just makes it more real that when you lose someone you might find someone new...

:lovestruc

Congratulations Dan, Candi and Parker!! And welcome to little Noelle!!

Oh, what a sweet baby girl. Congratulations of that precious bundle of joy.
thank you, thank you very much.

I think we need a repost of one of parker's newborn pics for comparison :goodvibes
i was gong to do that, they are almost identical it seems in baby pictures, but that is from memory we havent done the side by side yet.
i will post one of his when i do.

Congratulations! Wish I could see the picture, I'm at work! Ugh.

I got a text from Marv a couple days ago telling me the good news!! I'm so excited for you all! The last time I saw Noell, she was tucked safely away with Candi- and now she's here with you! What a precious blessing to your family, Dan!
thanks, next time you see her will have to be someone besides the west coast as we are not sure when we will make that trip again.

thanks, and we are beyond blessed.

Congratulations to the new family memeber Candy, Dan and Parker!
thank you very much.

I am all caught up on everyones reports that i am reading, but i only commented on a few, would take me weeks to comment on everything, so sorry if i didnt comment on yours, but know i was lurking.

So if you want to read about the new addition feel free to continue, if not, then close the screen and wait till next week when i get back to the updates.

if your ready here we go.

we had our doctors appointment, on monday afternoon, candi was still slowly progressing, at 3cm.

she went home i went back to work.

she called me at 3 and said she had been having contractions about 6 minutes apart for the last two hours, nothing bad, she just knew they were there.

around 4, i was home and started timing them with her, and they were down to 4 minutes.

i made parker dinner, grabbed something for myself, (she wasnt hungry), called the grandparents and told them that hte baby would be here that night...to make preparations.

about 5, they were getting a little more intense, so i called my sister and met up with her at the fire station where she was with my BIL and her kids having his birthday dinner, while he was on shift.

she said drop parker off.

my BIL was happy when i drove away with candi in tow, as it meant he didnt have to deliver the baby or answer the call.

the other guys working said they would have gladly delivered it.

after the whole getting things in the car meeting my sister, we made to the hospital at about 5:30, and candis doctor, meet us on the baby floor, she said, i think we better get you to a room.

she checked her shortly after and she was at 6 cms...after 6 she was ready to rock and roll, and after 3 pushes, our little girl was born at 6:08pm

they weighed and measured her, and had candi start bonding with her....she didnt even get cleaned up for at least 2 hours after she was born.

will she was in labor, the lab tech came in and asked her doctor what she wanted her to do, she said take her blood, the lab lady so theres no way i can stick her with a needle when one contraction stops her next one starts within 10 seconds.

so that was passed up, we didnt even get through all the normal questions and answer period you have when you check into the hospital.

since it was still early, my sister brought parker to the hospital so he could be the first one to see his little sister.

and he was very excited.

getting ready to hold her

and helping hold her for the first time.

a close up picture of noelle. with her new knitted hat that the hospital angel organization made and they give one to each newborn...hers was one of a kind as the nurses said they were wondering who would get the one that noelle did and were glad she had it....the other ones were flat and did not have the extra poofs to it.

and one of parker to compare them.

the hospital has a celebration dinner, or lunch depending on when you want it....you have many things to select for your dinner....i had the steak, tators....veggies, salad, roll, german chocolate cake, wine and milk.

candi had the chicken tator, veggie, salad, roll, milk, and sparkling juice.

it is a nice dinner to have before you head home.

i was emotional when parker was born, but dont remember being as emotional as i was with her...when we would take walks around the hospital floor with her, to get candi some excercise, i would get a good lump in my through when i passed the birth suite on the floor. and we passed her room a few times, i can neither confirm nor deny that ithappened each time.:rolleyes1 (one half of the floor is birthing suites, which are bigger than two normal hospital rooms, the bathroom is about as big as a normal hospital room just on its own, so really about the size of 3 hospital rooms)...the other half of the floor is the nursery rooms you transfer to after you have the baby.

lets talk about coincidence shall we....

the day after parker was born, you may remember the story when there was the earthquake in southern illinous that we felt shake our beds while sleeping that night....well lets fast forward a few years.

the day after noelle was born, we were by the side of her bed, and her rocker that she was sitting in was moving and she was not moving it, i said no it isnt, i stood up and it felt like i was some beers into a friday night and had a good buzz going on. we both looked at each other and said was that an earthquake....we turned on the chicago news, and within a minute the weather guy came on and said that they were getting tweets in, and there was an earthquake on the east coast. i take that as a sign that both our kids are going to do great things and are going to continue to do things to shake up the earth...i told them both after it happened that they can do anything they want and will make an impact in this life...i was an even more proud dad that day.

moving on to coming home.

i have heard that babies can not smile for a while after they are born, maybe a few weeks at least until they get strong muscles.

i call noelle my chunky monkey since she is a little round ball right now...and while i was playing with her on the couch yesterday and tickling her ribs...she kept laughing at me, and candi got a picture of it. even has a little dimple going on there.

we also had our first family walk, and parker was right by her side the whole time.

so thanks for reading along, and i hope everyone has a good weekend, i know we will continue to enjoy the family time.

thanks for reading along and hope everyone enjoyed it.

Ok that update got me all teary eyed. What a beautiful family you have. Congrats again to you, Candi and Parker. I love the story, and your take on the meaning, about the earthquakes. I know with great parents your kids will do wonderful things in life. Thanks for sharing!:)

thank you very muc for the prayers.

Any time! :O) I love doing it.

i am, she already has her fingers wrapped around me.

Of this I have no doubt. :lovestruc Baby's have a way of doing this, but little girl babies....fa get bout it!

he likes her but is a little jealous right now, but he is coming around good.

This is very normal, my son Tyler was seven when Mackenzie was born. Old enough to truly know what was going on and certainly old enough to get that she needed lots more attention than he did. Didn't matter, he would still get jealous. The little stinker would hold her and cry and say..."She's cute and I love her and all, but I just want her to go back." They get over it eventually. Parker's little enough I think he'll get over it faster than Ty did. Poor guy had us all to himself for 7 yrs.

Thank you for sharing the story on how Noelle came into the world. :yay:
I love all the pictures, but I think my favs. are the one when she's in the car ready to go home, binky in the mouth like she's an old pro! The next one is the one where she's smiling and you can see the dimple in her cheek like yours and parkers. :cloud9: Such a sweet little picture. I'm convinced the experts don't have a clue what they're talking about when it comes to baby's not able to smile at that young of an age. It's all hog-wash if you ask me. :)

By the way, don't worry one little bit about responding to this post, you've got lot's more important things to take care of at home. :goodvibes Blessings! :thumbsup2

Congrats to you, Candi and Parker! She is adorable! I love the picture of her in your lap laughing. I'm sure Parker is a great big brother!

Thanks for sharing the pictures - she really is a sweetie. And it looks like Parker is stepping up to his big brother role nicely  I don't remember too many problems with my kids as the others kept coming  but then, Sean was only 18 months when I had Ryne so I don't think he knew any better...then when Mark showed up Sean had just turned 4 and Ryne was only 2 1/2. Sean had already been through it once, and Ryne just rolls with the flow. So next time around Parker probably won't even blink an eye! :rolleyes1

Love the pics! Everyone looks like they are doing well! I love the picture of her smiling. Congratulations again!

As for the earthquake, you can just blame us in VA. It was my first one. Now I am getting ready for my first hurricane as Irene makes her appearance tomorrow/Sunday (that is part of the reason I haven't done a update yet!).

Dan, thank you for sharing the pictures. She is a sweetie pie, and congratulations again to all of you. It seems to be an epidemic on here...first Tim and Mel (that's nice), then you and Candi and now Barry and Bambi (FreezeinRafiki). :goodvibes

Aww... I love the pics

The one where you made her laugh is so precious :cutie:

That is such a coincidence at the Earthquake

Enjoy your family time :goodvibes

Your writing beautifully portrayed the arrival of Noelle. So wonderful! Congratulations from our family to yours! I'm glad to read that Candi's grandfather is home and will meet Noelle soon!

I love the photo of Parker walking right beside the stroller; and the one of you and Noelle smiling at each other; and, they are all good!

I have to tell you; my son is now 15 and my daughter is 13 and he still wishes she would go back! He has told me more than once that he wished he was an only child. :lmao:

You are about to find out that the 1 to 1 ratio of parent to child is not an even match; it has shifted all the advantage to the kids! Before my second one was born, a friend of mine told me that it would be more than double the 'trouble' once the second child arrived. After two or three, there wasn't much difference. I guess she'd know. She has four kids. :upsidedow

Oh this brings back so many wonderful touching moments, Dan! Thanks for sharing your amazing piece of joy with us!! Congratulations again!

Candi is all business when it comes to birthing babies. :lmao: No messing around there. I thought I went quick with 3 hours from check in to birth but WOW Candi wasted no time.

What a beautiful set of homecoming and first days pictures.

Candi - you look great! What a great family.

Thank you for sharing your family with us. It brought back memories of when I had Nova. What quick labor she had! Baby machine! :rotfl::rotfl:

Do I hear #3? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't believe she smiled! I've never seen an infant do that before. :cutie:
As for the earthquakes. Your kids really know how to shake things up!

Dan that was pretty quick of you to come back and tell the story! What a great one it was. And I'd like to thank you for the congrats (I meant to quote your post)...we are excited!

Congratulations health and happiness and as the husband of NMW I can say she will always be your little girl

he is good but a little stinker, we know he will come around more, we just have to keep giving him the attention that he needs.
