Springtime Surprise Weekend 2025 (April 3-6)

We will be doing our first run Disney event at the springtime surprise weekend (10 miler)

Is there any need to have any form of photo ID when arriving to the run?.

I always carry my ID just in case -- you just never know. But there's no requirement to do so. But be sure you fill out the emergency contact info on the back of your bib, though.

Springtime Surprise Splash is apparently cancelled, emails going out now. Kind of a bummer but would guess there’s just not enough interest?

I am not at all surprised by this news. Last year, the announcers were HARD SELLING this event every morning while we were in the corrals. It was obvious they hadn't sold a lot of tickets.
Yeah, there weren't a lot of people at the Splash party last year, and it got a little chilly once the sun went down.

Does anyone know what the price of this was? I seem to remember that it was quite high. I suspect that if they made it more of a "deal," they would have gotten more people. I know that a group of friends went and enjoyed it as a wrap-up for the weekend, but I balked at the price.

$91.

I did Springtime Surprise in 2023 before they started offering this but I don’t think I would have taken it, even at a lower price. Would rather go to the parks.

Yes, that was why it was a hard pass for me. And a regular water park day is $74.

I can understand the upcharge for After Hours type events at the parks, but I just don't see additional value for a water park. Particularly for an evening (when it could be cooler) at the end of 3-day challenge weekend.

They should have included it for anyone doing the 10 Miler (or Challenge if they were worried about capacity).

Personally, I wouldn't want it included in the race registration because you know that that would just make the price of the races go up. But make the ticket reasonable. If it was $50-60 for the evening, I would have seriously considered it, even if it was a little more crowded than at the $91 price.

But it would be nice if you were doing a "non-park" trip. I didn't do the parks on my first SS weekend and I think the 3-day challenge lends itself to not buying park tickets. I would have been interested in a cost-effective add-on.

I went to the party last year and had fun. It it was quite expensive, and I don’t think worth the cost. I was not planning to do it again.

Agreed, the price was expensive, especially considering the tickets for the H2O Glows Nights in the summer were priced cheaper ($75 to $85 without any AP/DVC discount).

Also as an out of state AP, I am less convinced to buy a separate ticket because I am already paying for an AP.

Well dang. At first I had no plans for SS due to planning on MW and not having the time/$$ to also justify SS.
Then my MW got canceled, and I didn't think I'd be up to completing SS.
Now, my spring airshow in Lakeland will be finishing up the same weekend as SS, so I'll likely be down there and not far away!
But wait, there's more! That's also spring break for our high school, so still need to coordinate with DW.
But now that there is a good chance I'll already be in the area, I see that the 100-miler is now sold out, but I'm going to see what the spring break plans are and see if maybe a bib come available, perhaps through one of the charities.

Keep an eye on Telegram too (or wherever you like to get alerts).

It seems like a lot of bibs drop when there's other race weekends happening, so watch the alerts, where ever you choose to get them, over Princess weekend.

Thanks for sharing this. Other parts of the DIS have been following water park hours, which haven't been posted for either water park past 3/29. It's not out of the norm for Disney to be inconsistent with water park hours posting (which is pretty annoying, honestly), but with their pattern of only opening one park since Covid and the new resort guest water park benefit this year, many folks have been watching to see which park will be open. The Sunday 4/6 event was at least a sign that the switchover to TL would probably be 3/30 or sometime around then. I wonder if it is demand (likely given the comments here) or possibly delays in the annual refurb, who knows I guess.

Yay no video promotions about it pre-race this year! Best news all day.
