Springtime Surprise 2026 (Apr 16-20)

I need a bingo card for the number of times that woman said "incredible" in that video.

The colors are fun but I'll have to see them in person before making any purchase decisions. I wish they'd show more than just a tease on some of these. Also wondering which character(s) are getting shoes. Kinda hoping for Judy and/or Joy.

I keep telling myself that I don't need any more runDisney merch, but I feel my resolve buckling on this merch. I like the colors (assuming that they aren't so thin to make them see-thru) and the designs. Plus it helps that Zootopia and Inside Out are two of my favorite movies. Go ahead, Mouse, take my money!

Like many others, our weather has been anywhere between 10-75 degrees - and sometimes both on the same day - so I've got almost no heat and humidity acclimation right now and it's starting to freak me out. This is my third time doing Springtime so mentally I know what to expect, but I don't feel at all prepared. How is everyone else doing?
Have you tried passive heat training? A 20-30 minute session in a hot bath/hot tub/sauna a day for 4-5 days will jump start adaptations, and then you just need 1-2 sessions a week to maintain. (It does feel like you're dying though. 😅) It's not quite the same as running in the heat and humidity, but it helps.

My gym does have a sauna, steam room, AND hot tub so this might be an option. Any thoughts on how far before race day is the ideal time to start this?

iirc when I was doing DopeyBadger MW plans, we started heat acclimation about 7-10 days out.

I got to Marathon Weekend (which was pretty warm) the week before on Friday, so I had 9 days of acclimation before the marathon. I thought it made such a difference as usually I'm super sensitive to the heat but it didn't really bother me.

Oh heyyyyy. If they have Genie brooks at the expo, and it's not in a support shoe, I'm definitely going to need someone to buy them for DH. I don't want to count on Brooks having them in-stock online with how big of a debacle it was with the PW shoes.

How far ahead is everyone tapering before the challenge? I just got back to running after injury and trying to figure out if I push myself to add distance the week before (10th) or not. I won’t be able to get the full distance in before the race weekend but each week full of training will get me closer. I don’t want to over do it but want to be as ready as I can be.
