Springbreak 2009

I checked a couple of the larger school districts in the Denver, CO area and there seems to be two different ones. They are split between March 23-27 or March 30-April 3.

We are going to go one day during ours (between March 21-27) to DL. Last year I took my 3 daughters to WDW for spring break which was during the Easter week too. It was so busy but with lots of early mornings and fast passes it was managable.

March 27-April 5th.

Not that the amount of Albertans from our area that would actually be going there would make a huge difference!

I am hoping that what with a number of schools being out, that Dl will not be too crowded. I just do not do as well as some people in very large crowds that is in a concentrated area.

Where are you staying? You should post your dates on the when and where thread ;-)

Northern Oregon coast here, our Spring Break is March is 18-29th (way too long if you ask me) but I am taking my kids out of school and I am taking a week off myself (I work in a different school dist. than they attend) so that we can hit DL March 11-13th. Partially to have it be near my eldest DS birthday, but mostly to try and avoid the big crowds. Our one and only trip as a family happened toward the end of July 2006 when it was SO hot and SO crowded. I figured I owed the kids one visit that wasn't much of either. ;)

The universities and colleges here in Western Washington will probably get off sometime around the 21st to the 28th of March. High schools and middle schoolers, probably closer to early to mid April.

I'll be in Vegas in late march and so badly want to just trek down to DLR, but I DON'T HAVE A BLOODY CAR.

Funny, not too many people have the last week in March off like we do.
March 23-27 here in Albuquerque, NM

I think that it will be much better than if Easter were in March and EVERYONE's spring break is around that time, so I figured it could be much worse like on some years.
From what I have seen, it looks like Oregon, Idaho and New Mexico all have the same spring break. Ours is March 23-27 too. Looks like its right in between some biggies and it didn't look like any big conferences were during that week until the end. I am keeping my fingers crossed. We went in mid August 12-17 and I am hoping crowds and park hours will be similiar to that...definitely manageable.

IN Grande Prairie Alberta, Canada our spring break is from April10 to 19th and we are finnally able to go but we are going April 20th to th 29th

I'm hoping the same thing since our Spring Break is the same as yours!
Jennifer at HoJo told me that my dates (Mar 25& 26) are off season...I'm surviving on that thread of hope!

I'm a little perturbed that the first day we're there will be the last day of a cheer convention, but the rest of the trip should be ok- only one small convention during the rest of our dates. The way were doing it too-- it should work out all right because we will be driving all night and coming in to go right in the gates that day. From what I understand they are usually in competition all day and hit the parks later. We'll probably be heading back to the room in the afternoon to check in and maybe sleep a bit and I imagine it will be an early bedtime for me. The big cheer thing will be there the day after we leave. I don't think spring break crowds will be too bad being that Easter is April 12th, and since we don't go that often anymore, (our last trip was 10 years ago) I'll be happy that most things will be up and running. Sucks the electrical parade will be down though.

I'm wondering if the bad economy will mean a less crowded disney this spring or is this just wishfull thinking? I've probably picked the worst week to go (april 10th -14th).

We will be there on March 18-26. Our son's college spring break (University of Kansas) falls in the first week. My husband is attending a large conference March 22-26.

Thanks for the information provided in this thread..it's helping us plan a trip in april.:goodvibes

All of you with upcoming trips.. travel safe and make lots of happy memories.:goodvibes

We are going March 7-14 & thank heavens the spring breaks are later in the month. We went last year during Easter/Spring Break & it was a mad house. A couple CM's told us this was their biggest crowds for spring break....ever! Lucky us...lol You couldn't get anywhere, on anything, use a restroom or eat with out a very long line/wait. Absolutely crazy.
Someone was commenting on the Electrical parade earlier on in this thread, from what I've been told, it will not be back until this summer as they are replacing the Blue Fairy with Tinker Bell. We're disappointed to not see it this trip as well as the Parade of Dreams, which is now gone dark. They are resurfacing Main Street & the new "Celebrate" parade will start March 27th....so will be a little weird not seeing either parade.

Everyone going during spring break, have a great trip & just be prepared for crowds...that way it won't surprise you.
:rotfl:
