In Northern VA we are 3/17 - 3/21. I just booked our trip that week and am expecting very high crowds, but this thread is giving me hope that it won't be too bad!!!
This is the impression I have got over the years of reading these boards Spring Breaks start end of Feb and run through April. Each week that passes the crowds pick up a little more. With the most crowded being whatever week is Easter week.
One year our spring break fell the first week of March. After that I was always the 2nd week of March. I found the 2nd week crowds to be a little bigger. But nothing unmanageable. One year the last day of our trip was the Sunday before Easter. I saw a significant increase in the crowds on that day.
Now having said all that....this is my opinion and remember opinions are subjective. What I think is moderately crowded someone one else might see as insanely crowded. And yet another might see it as not very crowded at all.
Ok, I am bumping this up.
Anyone going the first full week of March? I'm trying to decide which week will be Least busy, but it looks like most of April is.
The UG crowd calendar shows the first week of March as moderate crowds (levels 5-7). Then the crowds start to pick up, hitting peak wait times at March 20 through 31. Then they drop back down to moderate pretty much for the whole of April.
Wow!! This year, spring breaks are all over the place. We live in Central Indiana, and ours is April 4th-April 11th. Wish I was going to Disney, but we just went in October!
It's looking like that perhaps the first week of March MIGHT not be so bad after all. Lots of people seem to have April Spring breaks, or later March ones even though Easter is early this year.
