We're trying to plan a future trip and would like to hear from others experiences which is more crowded - Easter week or the week between Xmas and New Years? I imagine that they are both crowded but wanted to hear from the experts here as to which week would be the least crowded.

Thanks:D

i would say easter week because christmas and new years would be way too crowded. Easter would probably still be a little crowded but not as much as christmas and new years. Hopefully that helped you out. :bounce: :earsboy:

Thank you! That is what I thought - so far we have only gone in the early summer but I am tempted to try to plan a trip sometime during the school year next year just debating on if I should plan it according to the kids breaks or try to take them out of school for a few days  Lots of decisions - miss school or try to fight the crowds - LOL

When our kids went with us, we used to take them out of school for a few days. They would let their teachers know of the trip ahead of time, and the teachers would give them assignments and homework to do while they were away. Never had a problem...

If those are the 2 choices then Easter week. They are both very, very busy. However, almost all kids and colleges have off at Christmas/New Years. Only about 1/2 have off significant time at Easter. So travel is still just a "hair higher" during Christmas.

Thank you! I figured Xmas would be the busiest - though I would love to go see WDW decorated for the holidays - someday:D

Thanks for the school info flyinglizard - mine will be in 2nd and 5th and they both get really good grades so maybe if we plan ahead it wouldn't hurt to take them out a few days and go whne it is not so crowded.:earsgirl:

We usually compromise and go the day they get out of school for Christmas (usually around December 16 or 17) (or sometimes take them out a day or two early) and stay until the 23rd or 24th. The crowds aren't too bad yet and we love seeing and doing all the Christmas 'stuff'! We've gone during Spring Break once and I said "never again". (If that was my only choice, though, I'd do it! LOL)

Since your kids are fairly young and get good grades, I would think about taking them out of school for a few days in order to miss the worst of the Easter or Christmas crowds. We went one time between Christmas and New Year's, and it was so crowded that we really didn't enjoy our trip very much. We've gone mostly during our Spring Break (2nd week of March, doesn't conflict with Easter week) or Thanksgiving week, and crowds are much more manageable then.

What we have done the past few trips is take the kids out of school 2 days before thanksgiving and spring breaks. We then stay down 5 days and as we are leaving ---the crowds are starting--cheaper airfare as well. Good luck.
