Spring break 2011

Next year, Easter is not until late April (24th...or in that vicinity). How does a late Easter affect early April crowds? I understand that spring crowds are higher during Easter week, but does that hold true when it's so late? I ask because our break is always the first week in April regardless of Easter. Not sure if other areas of the country are the same. Thanks!!!

Our spring break is usually the week before Easter. Next year, because Easter is so late in April, our spring break will actually be in the middle of March. So, I would say that there are some areas where spring break will be altered due to the timing of Easter in 2011.

Our spring break for 2011 is April 22 - May 2.
It's gonna be a LONG winter.........

I have been concerned about this too because we plan to visit WDW at that time. I even wrote tourism Florida and they think it will be slower because many of spring breaks will be in March and then state exams are in April and with some schools being done mid May, this might make a huge difference (fingers crossed). I can't see it being any busier than most anyways...what about everyone else????

A lot of schools in the NE have their spring breaks at the end of April, 3rd or 4th week. Our break is set, regardless of when Easter falls.

Hi there! would some one please be able to help...when would you say is the best time to go? i was planning a trip for end of march 2011- beginning of april but have been advised this is spring break time? so we are now looking at may 2011? we visited last year end of april but this is easter 2011? please help!

We went the end of march- beg. april of '08' to disneyland and it was Great! We walked right on some rides and the others were about 20 to 30 min. That was the first time I've ever been to disney besides summer. It was never crowded until afternoon--eve. I believe easter was later that year too so maybe that makes a difference?! We plan on going next year same time so hopefully we'll get lucky again with lower crowds. Candy

I would say that since so many schools base their spring break on the timing of Easter, whether it's early or late, be prepared for a ginormous crowd even though it's late April. But don't let that deter you! We went the week after Christmas this year and had a blast despite the amount of fellow visitors.
