Today is time to start getting serious about all the stuff we need to do, like Fish Extenders, laundry, and packing.

OK, I guess I should have figured this one out! Hi LISA!!! To those not in the know, Lisa and family of FIVE is one of the other families that we are going on this cruise with! I responded to Lisa's post stating we are from MN too not realizing that she finally joined our meet discussion! Glad we chatted at the girls' skating on Saturday!

ROOM CHANGE FOR FE...I sent out an email to the FE group yesterday stating that our cabin is actually 6596, not 6590. This was my mistake! When I shared my cabin # I looked at an old email from my DU person as we originally had 6590 but then moved closer to the other two parties we are going with. Sorry! Look for the FE that is black and red felt, with polka dot ribbons and the pockets have bows (the girl pockets) or buttons (boy pockets). I did a quick homemade job on my FE so I hope the size and durability holds up!

Kids FEs are done, bagged and organized by deck in bags. Adult FE gifts are all done and will drop in bags the night before or 1st day of cruise. Woohoo, now it's just getting the rest packed. I pulled out my cruise packing list from previous times and am running thru the list of to dos, got mail put on hold and doing a few other items like that. It's getting so close!

DD and I are working a GS Cookie booth today and then a end of season wrestling banquet for DS this evening. I'll be packing in between and playing my cruise CD music! Enjoy your day everyone!

Glad to know I'm not the only one this has happened to! Just went shopping for some of those giant soft heads to hopefully cover it - though I know she won't keep those in long! But I got some to match her outfits for the trip, so maybe they'll work for a picture. As this happened, I of course was ironing some transfers onto shirts for our trip. Or the irony! Still looking forward to lots of fun with the family and all of you. First cruise ever, and we can't wait. We fly out one week from today.

When I was about 6 or 7 years old I cut off one of my BRAIDS!!!! Talk about my mom having a heart attack! Wound up with a bowl cut for a bit but at least it's a good story

speaking of pictures.....this is our first cruise so I am wondering how many opportunities are there for family pictures? And do you buy them by the sheet or do they do something along the lines of the photopass cd?

I can't believe it is almost here We are soooo excited well, at least DH and I are! The kids still don't know We managed to keep the secret for a year

But the kids are excited about heading to Disney World.....we are just checking out sooner than they think.....but then we will check back in after the cruise. LOVIN SPRING BREAK

We surprised Meg the first time we went on DCL. She couldn't believe it when we were in our room and the baggage people called to check if our baggage was ready for pick up We took the magical express and all it was a fantastic experience! I'm actually missing taking the dcl magical express this year. I think that it is a great build up to the cruise. Since we have the car though we are going to drive from WDW to port in the morning with our family.

i can;t believe more can happen! Was in the hospital for surgery on ankle and get this - my room was broken into and wallet, minicomuter, kindle, and everything i own was stolen!!! we got back Fri ;night and I have spent a day and a half changing email, passwords, getting new credit crd, stopped access to all bank accounts, notified Equifax, now have to get a new drivers license and ss card!!! I am more determined than ever to be able to go onn this trip! Dr appt is Tuesday - hopes and prayers please!!!
I know they want 2 photo id's but I will only have my passport, will that suffice???

oh folks there is MORe!!! I feel like i am on a psychiatrist sofa this is getting so horrible! We had our wonderful daughter in law over for dinner (with family) tonight and our SON informed us that his passport is with the Brazilian consulate and he won't receive it until Monday the 28th! (he is leaving Florida for Brazil on the 19th of the month) I can't believe it! I have been in tears all evening - i swear I will NeVER do things for others again!. Now we have to forfit his fare plus upgrade one of the kids to an adult fare! I am just beside myself. thank you so much for listening - this is like the worlds worst soap opera. What is the use of working to take your family on the cruise of a lifetime when all this transpires? I am so sick about the whole issue I don't even know where to turn. thank goodness for my sister in law and the rest of the family.

Wow, PPIEW, your luck seems to need to turn around. Hopefully some Tinkerbell magic on the cruise will turn things around for you...

I have a bit of chaos this week too, I have to go out of town on business tomorrow and Wednesday. So I only have three nights to get everything ready. One good thing about it though...I'll be in a hotel all alone so I'll bring my laminator and do our door magnets at the hotel.

OMGoodness Gert! I am so sorry! Look things happen in threes so your threes are up now! This is when the good stuff starts to happen. We WILL see you on that ship! You know you think things are bad when the zipper on your suitcase breaks, then you read the trials of others and you realize your little problem pale in comparison of what others are dealing with. Things have got to get better. What can we do to help you out? It's a terrible way to start a vacation. Let your DIS friends help if there is some way to give you a hand.

I'm so sorry to hear all the problems you're experiencing! Please know that we're all sending pixie dust your way! I hope your doctor visit goes great tomorrow.

As for photo ID you could possibly go to your DMV and they might be able to take a photo ID for travel purposes? Not sure what the turn around for a drivers license is but in Mn things can be quick for some things for a replacement license.

License replacement is 2 wks. Scty of State took picture but doesn't give it to you. have temp license but no picture!! I hope the passport will do!!

You should be just fine with the passport. I looked up the requirements in my cruise docs and it says you must present only one of the documents as proof of citizenship - so just a passport, passport card, drivers license or trusted traveler card. If you do not have a passport you must show your drivers license AND an original/certified copy of your birth certificate.

The airport is the same way. To get through security you only need to show one piece of ID so your passport will work for that also.

Hi Everyone! I have gotten a couple of questions on what to do in the event of a cabin change. Here is my best solution.

BY or BEFORE 3PM

1. Email me at eskrick@live.com from your phone and let me know the change

2. Drop by my cabin, 10560, and leave a note in my FE about the change

BY 4PM I will send out an email to my DREAM 2011 address list to let you know of any changes AND I will have those changes posted outside my cabin door for 24 hours. It will be your Dis Name and your Family's NEW CABIN NUMBER I will also email / post a note on the Door saying NO CHANGES if we don't have any

Called the Disney Cruise concierge line (after researching the telephone number on here). I asked the CM to check availability on the cabanas since that determines what time we will aim to arrive at the port in hopes to reserve one (we are not concierge, so can't book until onboard and first come, first served once onboard). Her response was that all the family cabanas are already booked. She did say that there could be a cancellation, but just wanted to let anyone else know that has their hopes up to snag a cabana .

DH went to FEDEX today to ship our FE package to our resort at Disney before the cruise. He was quoted over $200 to fedex it . That is more than the whole parcel is worth. He was going to pay it (in order to make me happy - I have been a little stressed out lately.), then the fedex agent started to go on about customs forms (we are from Canada). When she asked what was in the parcel he said souvenirs, but that apparently wasn't good enough. She needed an itemized list. When he told her the parcel contained candies, pens etc. That was when he was told he would need to filll out a toxicity ??? form because we were going to ships pens across the border. At that point DH lost it and left. I then received a phone call at work from DH who was not very happy and was grumbling about "what had I gotten myself involved in." I then had to repack the suitcases because now we are going to try to take The FE gifts in our checked baggage. Here's hoping everything goes well in the airport on Thursday

I'm getting ready to put my FE gifts in a big checked bag. Started packing some of the other suitcases tonight while listening to the frozen sleet ping the windows. Now if that wasn't enough for me to look up the current weather in the Bahamas I don't what is! I cannot wait to leave this long winter behind!
