Spring 2011 Professional Internships

I got another rejection email. It was for corporate tax, actually i'm glad because tax definitely isn't my strong point!

Hey guys... I applied for 3 PIs today... just curious, generally how long did everyone wait to hear back about either getting rejected or to schedule a phone interview? A few days? A week? 2 weeks? Just trying to get a general idea. :)

I applied for PI alumni program so I got a phone interview right away. It has been a month since my phone interview and I haven't heard anything.

So I applied for Guest Relations, Park Even Operations Assist., MK Project Support Intern, and Guest Correspondence.. Also applied for another 4 Non-Alumni positions.. Today is going on a month after my phone interview and so far received 1 rejection e-mail for one of the Non-Alumni positions. Applied last semester and didn't get any and graduate in December so this is my last chance!! Crossing my fingers that get a phone call in next 2 months! (Wow that sounds like a lonnnng time!)

Hi All!
I applied for the Creative Entertainment Art Design Internship,
Disney Design Group Creative Assistant Internship, Distribution Marketing Services –Production Artist and Graphic Design Internships. I also applied to the College Program as a back up plan.
So far I made it through the screening interview. They told me that decisions would be made by Dec 1. I really hope to hear something before then as I'm terribly excited!
Anyway, just wanted to say "hi!" and throw some pixie dust around on everyone else. Good Luck!

:wizard:

Hey everyone!

Do you remember any of the questions asked during the screening interview?

Thanks!

The interviewer was really nice which made the whole thing a little less nerve wracking. She asked me the standard stuff about being eligible to work in the US and if I had my own transportation. She also asked about visible tattoos and if I fit the "Disney Look".
I was asked about my flexibility and to rank my top three applied for positions. She then asked me to go into detail as to specifically why I'm qualified for each position. (I didn't have a copy of the descriptions printed to look at, but I wish I had.)
Just remember to smile and take your time answering the questions and you'll do fine. Good Luck!

I applied for the Finance/Accounting internship. I have another question if you don't mind! After the phone screening interview, is there another interview? Or do they make the decision after the screening interview?

there is another interview for accounting and finance. I have already had both. A department head of finance was who did my second interview. It is a lot harder than the first and a lot longer.

Has anyone had second interviews for anything alumni-only or management? Specifically food and bev or lodging management?

I have applied for 2 alumni PIs & 2 management PIS. I did my phone interviews almost a month ago. I have a in person interview for lodging next week! Im nervous but excited at the same time. Has anyone else heard or done there 2nd round interview for any of the mgmt PIs yet?

princess_belle, what kind of questions do they ask during the second interview? Are they more technical? My second interview is Tuesday and I'm so nervous.

One of my friends has his 2nd round lodging interview tomorrow. He is already down in Orlando and meeting with leaders in person, if that makes any difference.

Someone told me that MI potentials who are in FL get in-person interviews, and those away from WDW move directly to the 3rd round - a phone, panel interview.

My dh had the initial screening phone interview for a few different PIs including MIs for retail and lodging. So if he goes to the next round it will be a while? That is since they are going to do in-person interviews first?

I believe that is correct. I heard that if you're not in the area and have applied for a MI, it will be early November when you hear about the next step. This is all rumors, of course. ; )

Does anyone know how many interviews after the screening interview are required for management internships? I had my screening interview one month ago and haven't heard anything.
