I had my interview August 26th and I got my letter of acceptance last night! :yay: I'm so excited!! I will be working in attractions for the spring advantage! My arrival date is January 21st to August 7th. That was the earliest date. I accepted and paid all the costs. I met with the campus rep today and talked to a student rep via e-mail...all under 24 hours haha. I was told today that I was the first from this college to get accepted into the program. Haha. They were surprised to hear that I already got all that done - when it comes to Disney, I don't waste any time! :rotfl:

Now it's just a matter of buying plane tickets and getting set up for next semester here at the college.

Good luck to those still waiting! :thumbsup2

lol. I was so excited I couldn't even concentrate on anything. I tried to read the page online where you accept the invitation and I could hardly read. I had to stop, take a breath, and re-read several times haha. It was crazy.

Congrats!!

Congrats to Loves Disney!

Thanks!!!

Hi everyone! First off, congrants to everyone who got their letters today!!!!!! I still think it's really exciting to hear all about it:) It's kinda like I live through everyone elses magic until I hopefully get my own:goodvibes

Second, I would like to put some people's minds at ease. Michelle gave me a call today and was sooooo nice:) She was so honest with me and very open about the recruiting process and she seemed very genuine. Honestly.

I've heard from other people a long time ago that anyone, since these boards are public, can read them, so that part didn't really surprise me. She told me that the recruiters do understand how frustrating the waiting process can be and if anyone has any specific questions to feel free to contact your recruiters because they are here to help:)

I don't really know if I should say much else regarding our conversation, so I'm not going to but I honestly felt quite relieved after talking to her and I highly suggest to contact them if anyone has any questions!!

Good luck to everyone again!

Is there some secret thing that you can only find out from your recruiter?

lol no i don't think so:) I just don't want to give out wrong information to anyone so instead of trying to explain stuff and maybe getting stuff wrong, Ive decided to say to call your recruiter:)

Michelle was really open and honest with me, so if you don't have michelle maybe you could try contacting her anyway?

I'm not sure how contacting your non-recruiter really works out, but you could probably try! The worst tht could happen is she could tell you to please contact your personal recruiter:)

There really isn't that much to tell, to be honest. It's not some massive hidden disney insiders only kind of information by anymeans:) :goodvibes I'd just rather not give anyone wrong facts, thats all:)

I have Jessica but i'm afraid that if I call them and they get annoyed they'll reject me XD

I just read on the FB forum that it's okay to call them! Someone called and she was EXTREMELY nice and helpful and explained why it's taking so long. The person on the forum didn't tell us but my personal theory is that because of the hiring freeze maybe they have to take in more CPs and they had a HUGE flood of applications which I understand would make everything slower.

I hope that ours will come today! I'm so excited. I'm going to wear my Stitch ears all day and hope that brings me luck haha.

I don't think they really can take more then normal, though. There just isn't room (especially with Patterson still under construction) for everyone who applies, unfortunately.

don't be afraid to call her at all:) Michelle told me that's what they are there for and they would much rather have us all call them than get incorrect information from the boards! (or it was something along those lines:))

Basically it all boiled down to not being afraid to call or email them at all and that they would be happy to help us! No worries:goodvibes

I think if I don't hear anything by saturday (that will be one day after my four week mark) that i'll call the following monday and just ask if everything's okay with my application. I'm all the way in San Diego so it's probably going to take a bit longer for me. Is anyone else on the west coast?

Guess what I got today......

A BIG PURPLE ENVELOPE, baby!!!! I got accepted into Attractions for Spring Advantage, exactly what I wanted!!! Woot!!! My mail even came an hour and 15 minutes early today. For the record, I applied on August 29, got my first email on Sept 2 (faxed received), one on Sept 8 (hard copy received), and the final "Thank you for applying" email from Juliana on Sept 18, so it seems like things are speeding up a little bit down there. I'm in Alabama too, so my letter didn't have far to travel. Hope some other folks get good news today!! Good luck!

Congrats!!! I interviewed the same day and my fax was received the same day as you!! I never got an email about them receiving my hard copy. Maybe mine's on it's way??? I was gonna contact them today but decided to give it a few days in case it is on it's way since i'm in CT. It sounds like most people who got accepted are for attractions, which I didn't apply for. if I don't hear by Tuesday or Wednesday, I guess I'll contact them

Thanks! I was really expecting to wait another couple weeks since I only heard from Juliana on the 18th, so it was a big surprise today! I specified attractions as my first choice, so I think everyone who has applied early has been getting their first choice as well. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get yours in the next day or so!

And now I feel like a total jerk. I talked to Michelle on the phone and she said she was sorry that I took her e-mail the wrong way.

She was concerned about my professionalism. And in person I'm extremely poised and professional, so that made me really nervous. And the thing is, she should have no idea it's me, but I had no idea they read the boards so I just used my name for my username. I thought "what? I'm going to meet some of these people in person, anyway." Bad idea, apparently.

She said, "If you reacted this way to such a tiny setback, it just makes me concerned with how you'll deal with guests if there's a problem." And I had to explain, tearing up and feeling like an idiot, that I'd had problems with financial aid this year, and doing the program was going to save me about $20,000. So my dad’s calling me every day to find out if I get in, because he’s helping me pay for school. Plus my adviser was all over me to decide whether I'm taking a leave of absence or not, since it's a pretty arduous process at my school. So I have him e-mailing me every few days. Plus I’ve been extremely sick for almost two weeks now (first a cold, then the stomach flu, now a cold again), so I’m tired and cranky to begin with. I didn’t mention being sick, except to say I had a cold since I sound odd on the phone.

Then she said she understands, and she had just been concerned. Then she told me I had an answer in the mail. Which makes me nervous. A yes answer? A no answer? Argh.

I hope my fever-induced quick temper didn’t screw me over for the whole program. Congrats to everybody getting back good news!
