So I have a feeling I wont be accepted. Michelle got back to me today. Apparently my rehire status has not be fixed even though my manager personally told me it was. So i guess I will be getting rehire paperwork by email in the next few days and then its another 3 weeks after that since it has to go to a committee. Its all so dumb because my manager said he talked to michelle and took care of it. Im just really frustrated.

My adviser is really on my case about plans to declare (I technically still need to pick an adviser in my chosen department, and haven't yet), and if I'm going to take a leave of absence for the program I need to know soon or it'll be too late! That's why I applied the first day, for goodness sake. And now I'm being a little goofy with the smilies. I'm gonig to call tomorrow, I think.

I just emailed michelle again. Basically, in so many words (i made it sound really nice and light hearted, so as not to give the impression that I'm super p-oed)... I basically asked her to flat out tell me whether or not a decision has been made about me and whether or not my stuff has been sent out. I told her im going crazy since it's coming up on 5 weeks from my interview and if she could just tell me whether or not a decision has been made and if my stuffs been mailed out, would help me A LOT!

i just sent it, so i know no one is at the office right now, so hopefully i hear from her tomorrow morning!

I kind of feel bad emailing her, because in the time it takes for her to respond to my email, she could have accepted someone!

i had my interview on friday, august 29 and then faxed my papers in that next tuesday (it was the weekend of labor and hurricane gustav ((i live in mississippi)) and i wasnt able to get to a fax machine before then). I also mailed in my stuff that same tuesday. i got an email the next day confirming that they had me fax then a week later i got an email confirming they got my stuff in the mial. And then a few days ago i got an another email from them thanking them for my interview and telling me who my recruiter is- which is juliana. does anyone else have her? everyone seems to have michelle. im hoping to hear somehting this week in the mail about a decision but if i dont i may call next week and see if they have processed my application and made a decision yet

I don't have her, but I have Rebecca. I emailed her the other day and she got back to me yesterday saying that by early next week at the LATEST I should have something in the mail.

I have Christy, I emailed her around 6:30 PM Monday night she got back to me first thing the next morning. She said a decision had been made on my app and i should see something within a week time frame.

I called my recruiter Michelle yesterday, saying that it had been a full month since my interview date/day I mailed/faxed everything, and was wondering if my materials had been processed yet. That was all, not berating them for being slow or anything, just wanted to hear from them. I got this email this morning. Literally, this was the whole thing.

All i want to know is if a decision has been made.

I'm so frustrated with stuff right now. I'm trying to be patient it's just so hard. I know they're really busy. I totally understand that, my nerves are just about gone though since i want this so badly! Here's hoping I get any response soon.

I just checked back to some of my old posts. I was wrong, my response took 6 days. I knew on August 31, 2006! It was still over a month for my packet, but at least I knew. I'm so sorry you are all going through this.

Also, Michelle was my recruiter and was nothing but nice and excited every time we spoke. Something is going on down there... It might be out of her control even.

She asked you to call, so until you take the chance to hear her out, you can't say too much. Well, you can say all you want but it might be overreacting just a bit. You don't know what tone she wrote that in. She probably has to wait on answers from others too...background checks, etc. Did you leave contact info in your message to her? If so, that probably explains the name misspelling, or it was just an honest mistake. I'm sure she isn't secretly plotting to do things to make you even more upset...

From the sounds of it, she is being overrun by calls and emails from (rightfully) impatient DISers... I doubt it was personal.

So I just finished my interview with Colleen! She was very nice but very to the point. I think it went really well, she answered every one of my answers with a positive response so we'll see!! It lasted exactly 16 minutes. The questions she asked me were:

General Questions
-Why do you want to work at Disney as opposed to another internship?
-How do you feel about living with roommates? How would you handle a situation where your roommate was constantly messy?
-Would you be interested in QSFB?
Hospitality
-What would you do if a guest requested a pool view room and none were available?
Merchandise
-What would you do if a guest wanted a specific item and it was out of stock?
Full Service F&B
-What do you think is the role of the host/hostess?

She then asked me if I had any questions and I asked if we were to be accepted could request a specific work location. She said that there are no promises but she can put them down so I requested either the Grand Floridian or Boardwalk for Hospitality and the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square are Magic Kingdom.

Now I'm off to fax my information! I'll have to wait until I can get to a UPS store to send my stuff because I want to overnight it since the mail is all messed up here due to Ike! Then the waiting game begins!

Hey guys it seems like I'm in the same situation as everybody else. I emailed Michelle today and asked her what my status was, she was very nice about it, but the bottom line is she said another 2-3 weeks. She also said that she looked at my interview information yesterday. So I wonder what that means. Congrats to everyone that knows they got in. Meanwhile it looks like 2 more miserable weeks for the rest of us. Im praying for all of us.

When did you interview/send your application and role checklist in? At this point, I rather hear "2-3 weeks" than nothing at all and continuing to obsessively check my mailbox.

Anyone have a really really bad day and then find out something you're so excited for hasn't happened yet? lol that was me last night! I had a terrible night at work and then my dad tells me no letter. Pooey!

Oh well. I'm sure they're working hard at getting responses to people and i know that I'd get annoyed if people kept emailing me and calling me. So i've decided i'm going to let fate take over and I'll hear something when i hear something

Yah i have a feeling that they are justf tired of hearing from us. I have talked to michelle on the phone and she is really nice and all. I think that they have to be vague or whatever. Also Im not even sure she is my rescruiter since I got my thanks for sending you stuff from another person so who knows. All i was told was that I would receive the rehire paperwork this week and then once that was sent back it would take three to four weeks to get a response but the fact that manager already said he support rehiring me would def speed up the process. Lol im just hoping to find out by Halloween now. i really cant stress about this anymore, what happens happens. So good luck to everyone. I know its hard waiting but imagine having to wait another month and fill out extra paperwork not fun. And I agree somethign is up in Florida and it seems like they are not responding as magically as they should.

Yep, I have Juliana too! I don't know if it's because we applied the same day or because we're in the same region (I'm in Alabama), but anyway, I got all my emails around the same time you did, so I guess we should be hearing something around the same time. I'll be sure to post as soon as I find anything out and you do the same!

I understand that she's busy, but this is only the second time I've called in the entire month since I've interviewed. I did leave contact info, including two telephone numbers, and she chose instead to use the e-mail I left.

Also, I was recently told that they read the boards. What? Isn't that sort of an invasion of privacy? Someone on facebook said she received e-mails back from a recruiter with portions of her posts from the boards in them, which totally freaked me out. I thought this was a safe place to vent, not somewhere I would be spied on.
