I leave for my trip early monday morning, and so I thought I would pick up a couple of the spray fans, well they are sold out except for very tiny fans and no water in them for spray. should I wait to get to wdw and buy them or if anyone has tried the tiny ones are they good enough do they keep you cool enough? Any advice would be great.

well.. if you are leaving on monday, maybe the store you shop at will have them by the time you leave or you can go to another store. unless you live out in the boonies like me.

if you buy them at WDW be prepared for a higher priced sprayer fan.
at wally world here,I just saw some for either $4.00 or $5.00 I can't remember which.

down here in Florida, you can just about find them every where.

I actually do live out in the boonies, but I'm only 1/2hr away. I was told they won't be in unttil sometime next week. The tiny ones are 3.99 at Fred Meyer but I'm not sure if that will give any kind of a breeze.

We are bringing both types and believe me the ones without water actually do put out a good heavy breeze... just be careful if they are used by anyone with long hair as they do get caught in the hair if not used carefully! :sunny:

Try walmart they had a few different kind for sale and they were about $5

DH bought one at WDW and it cost $17--anythings better than that!

Heck even just a regular spray bottle with no fan would do the trick! And those are 99c!

I will tell you.....the one good thing about buying one at WDW is that if it breaks (or even runs out of batteries) they will replace it for you no questions asked! We bought our first one back in 2003 and have had it replaced twice, one time because we went up to buy new batteries and the CM just gave us an entire new one and the second time was because my Son dropped his and the clasp that holds the battery case shut broke and they replaced it then as well.

thanks everyone, I did check walmart and they were sold out, we had a week of 90 degree weather and I guess everyone needed one, this was last week, so I went today and all they had were the real tiny ones that fit right into a fanny pack, so since it was said they have a heavy breeze I just might try one of those, and if it doesn't work I'll get just one at wdw since they are so expensive. Thanks again everyone

Wow! I wish I knew this about 2 weeks ago. I sent one of ours with ds to day camp on one of those 100 degree days. He dropped it and the screw-on part cracked so I threw it out. I would have saved it for next trip to get another. :sad2: Oh well!
BTW, we've gotten spray-fans from WDW and also from the off-site souvenir stores. The off-site ones were much cheaper but broke right away. The WDW ones lasted thru many trips up until the camp incident. I'd still buy another from WDW. :thumbsup2

I told my girls we could get the real DISNEY spray fans this year. They are very excited about it.

Where can we find these btw? I don\'t remember if they have kiosks or if they are in just about every souvie shop. Can you get them at the Poly gift shop does anyone know? Otherwise our first park day is TL. Then MK after that

thanks for the info

You can find them just about EVERYWHERE, but I do not recall seeing them in our hotel gift shop.... I wouldn't be surprised if they even have them at TL. But if not, you will definitely see them in numerous places throughout MK! Have fun! :wave2:

:confused3 :thumbsup2 we bought 2 lime green ones at Wal-mart last summer for 1.00 each for this Sept. trip and we tried one out the other day and dh said it didn't do much.....so were not sure if we'll take them or not?? Hobby Lobby had a bunch of little fans that don't spray water in the Bible school section of crafts for .49, I thought i should get 1 or 2 of them? :confused3

We got ours at Wal-MArt for under $4.00 last year. But I saw them at Wal-green's yesterday for $6.00 each.

I heard the ones at Disney don't last long. If you don't mind getting out today, call a few places and see if they have them before heading out, or ask them to hold them if possible until on the way out for your trip. Then stop by on the way to WDW.

We used our Wal-Mart ones quite often. Just buy extra batteries.

I think that the Disney ones are actually rather durable....with the exception of the batteries dying and my Son dropping ours that one time we never had a problem with them. Plus...both times Disney replaced with brand new spray bottles even though the bottles and fans themselves were not faulty and neither time was the responsibilty of Disney.

Do you live near a "Sharper Image" they have REALLY nice ones. Both full size and a "mini' one you can clip to you wiht a provided carabena. They are both on sale $9/ $7.50 respectively. Higher than Walmart - less than Disney - but again seem to be really NICE quality.

good luck!!

I got some at WalMart for $5, which is better than the $7 or $8 at Disney. Its a good investment either way. They really keep everyone cool.

JulielovesDisney,
I love your picture of Kenny. Did you see him at Wachovia back in May? He's so awesome!! :cloud9:
