Sports: Deflate-Gate

I believe that the punishment would have been less severe if the Patriots, and anyone associated with them, had taken responsibility and owned up to what has been done. Instead, the arrogance oozes from those who represent the organization, and the credibility is lost when you fail to be open and provide all that was requested. Just Brady refusing to provide the electronic communications presents a probability of guilt. Somebody who has nothing to hide would provide the requested information without delay.

There is absolutely no question that this is what the issue became -the NFL basically had nothing with the ball issue, and by not cooperating the Patriots handed them another avenue that could be used against them. Sounds like they could have used some good PR advice.

Regarding the electronics -that was entirely driven by his/teams attorneys ...he may have been willing to provide the info, but there is no way any lawyer is going to allow that to happen in this situation. So I don't read too much into that.

An Open Letter to Pats Fans:

Dear Pats Fans -

Your favorite team was thought to have broken a rule and there was an investigation. The report from said investigation was not biased and contains enough detail to levy fines and suspensions. The uncooperative nature of the team also contributed to the length and amount of punishment.

Essentially, they were caught cheating. Again.

Please deal with it. Enjoy the latest Super Bowl win, but please...deal...with...this!

Arguing whether it's a good rule or bad rule isn't a defense or an excuse. Should the rule be removed? Probably. But it is a rule, which again, is believed to have been broken. The NFL isn't trying to conspire against the Patriots. This is crazy talk. Please stop. And stop comparing Brady's suspension to Ray Rice. The commissioner said he got that one wrong so if anything, the reason Brady got 4 games was because of the Ray Rice blunder. The NFL has a clear image problem with Ray Rice, Aaron Hernandez, and the many, many other DUI's, domestic abuses, etc so they are trying to clean up their image. This is simply blow back.

Also, people outside of Boston don't hate the Patriots because they win. Nope. They dislike the Patriots because of numerous reasons, including but not limited to: 1) They are arrogant to the point of annoyance; 2) they are repeat offenders, and 3) the fan base is quite possibly more annoying than the coach. Stop your whining. For the love of God, we beg you.

Regards,
Us.

Well that just blew up on you. Mr. Wells of the now famous Wells Report is a lawyer who has done cases for the NFL and counts them as one of his clients. Peter King said today why didn't the NFL have a REAL independent investigator brought in for this?

BTW you talk about arrogance in a post that you title "AN Open Letter to Pats Fans".

somebody please help me talk Disney ron off the edge. Disney ron for your own sanity, turn off the computer, put away the newspaper, and turn the radio to some easy listening. On another note, I will take that bet, sir...hahaha

You'd lose that bet. You probably think psi means how much the ball actually weighs.

Ronnie, Ronnie. How old are you?

Your rude retorts to everybody is not doing the reputation of Pat's fans any favors.

Hey I give you credit for admitting who you root for so at least we know where your agenda comes from.

BTW when I made the weight post I was listening to sports radio today and people actually believe the psi is the weight of the ball.

This is a post from another board by a non Patriots fan:

I'm not a Pats fan, but can clearly see that this was a witch hunt from the start. It's laughable that they protected the "sanctity" of the Super Bowl, only to drop the axe now. Goodell is out of control. If I'm the Pats, I sue the NFL for the draft picks and fines. If I'm Brady, I fight even a single game suspension (this idea that the NFL sets suspensions in anticipation of a successful appeal is preposterous).

Not sure if this was shared yet, but the hypocrisy is undeniable.

4. When Robert Mueller investigated the NFL for its cover-up mishandling of the Ray Rice elevator video … league executives only turned over their company-issued cell phones.

This was pointed out to me by an astute reader on Twitter, and it checks out. You’ll remember that last year, the NFL paid Robert Mueller to investigate the NFL, and Robert Mueller (surprise surprise) concluded that NFL hadn’t really done anything wrong.

In the course of that investigation, Mueller needed some evidence. Here’s an excerpt from Page 7 of the appendix of Mueller’s report:

“We identified the most logical persons to have received and viewed the in-elevator video. We imaged each of their devices — their computers, as well as their League mobile phones and tablets, if they had one. … In total, we imaged 51 computers, 42 mobile devices or tablets, and two external storage devices.”

Page 47 of that report also makes the distinction that the investigation examined “League” mobile phones and devices. That excludes personal phones and devices.

Now, that same Twitter user noted that Tom Brady’s cell phone, as listed in the Wells report, had a 917 area code, which would mean it was put into service in New York City.

I guess I don't really get your point? Are you questioning my use of "AN"? I originally assumed this since you put the 'N' in caps?? And this is a letter that is intended to be read by a wide audience, so that can't be it. And it was done in good humor, which is void in most Pats fans unless they're talking to other Pats fans about us "haters". What am I missing?

Right...you post "An Open Letter to Pats Fans" and I'm proving your point.

Noticed you had nothing to say about the "unbiased" investigation.

All kidding aside Joe "AN" was a typo on my part I held the shift key too long after I typed the "A" for that I apologize.

Another one of your "assumptions." False by the way. But keep it up. You keep digging yourself deeper and deeper into a credibility hole.

Are you on the Pat's payroll? Because if not, it really is just a game.

My credibility? Would you be this upset if the Jacksonville Jaguars were accused of deflating footballs? I think we all know the answer.

Are you a HATER? Because if not, it really is just a game.

I will go now, but I just wanted to say to those that went toe to toe with me it was nothing personal on my end. We are all here because we are Disney fans so I guess in that case we all root for the same team. My apologies if I offended anyone. I really didn't mean anything by it.

God bless!
