**spoilers*** Lost Season Five **spoilers**

joining in on this thread too. I'm really curious why Danielle in present time didn't recognize Jin if she met him back in time?

Sixteen years had passed and she's WACKO! :lmao:

Plus, we don't know yet how much time they will actually be 'together' in the past.

okay I had forgot the whole she's crazy thing, and he might only be in that time for a few minutes.

does anybody know if Walt is going to be back in it? Did they eliminate his character because kids grow?

When Walt visited Hurley in the mental hospital, didn't he say that Jeremy Bentham (Locke) had visited him? I wouldn't be surprised if there's a Locke episode where he visits Walt later on in the season as we learn more about the Jeremy Bentham character.

Shannon....I didn't even realize it was YOUR post I was responding to. That's what happens when I sneak on at lunchtime. :lmao: (and try to be a smart-alec)

I certainly hope they answer some of the Walt questions. Like, why do the Oceanic 6 HAVE to go back to the island, but Walt doesn't? Michael and Walt left the island, too; Michael apparently served his purpose by being on the freighter and being Ben's spy, but what about Walt? Why doesn't he have to go back?

According to the cast list and credits in two weeks Walt is on the show so maybe some "Walt" questions will be answered. It's episode 5.07 titled The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham. Tonights episode is 5.05 This Place is Death. It looks like tonight Jack's father is back as well as Eloise Hawking and Sun's mother Mrs. Paik.

One more thing, according to Ben in an interview he did he said Walt left at a time that made it not important when and how he left. It's because of how and when the Oceanic 6 left that makes their return important.

As well as Angel, working as one of the Wolfram & Hart Employees....Bernard was also on that show for some episodes as the head of the Law firm before he was killed.
And both actors(Daniel Dae Kim and Sam Anderson) have been on ER as well.

Wow! What an episode! Loved seeing smokey again. My favorite moment: Sawyer and Jin reunited. Awwwwww!

And as usual, last night's episode answered some questions and raised a whole lot more:

So the donkey wheel was off-balance after Ben moved the island. I guess that would account for all the flashes and time-shifting. Since Locke turned the donkey wheel, does that mean he put it back in place and stopped all the flashes?

If the island is done skipping through time, does that mean it stays at whatever the last time-jump was? Or did Locke's turning of the wheel bump the island back to the present time?

We still need to account for 3 years of life on the island. Locke turned the wheel and (I'm assuming it's like with Ben) that moved Locke off the island and back to the real world, and he's spent the next 3 years trying to get in contact with the Oceanic 6 and convince them to go back to the island (after his broken leg is healed). What happens to the Losties on the island during those 3 years?

I was wondering the same thing about the wheel being off it's axis. Ben shifted it, and turned it. The time flashes should stop, meaning if the O6 have to go back to save their friends, it's not the time flashes screwing them up. (Could they really have suvived THAT for 3 years?)Maybe when Ben fixed the wheel, Sawyer and friends are stuck in "whenever" they were. Maybe the Island can't adjust itself unless everyone who is supposed to be there is there.

Someone on the non-spoilers thread said that they thought Ben looked surprised to learn that Eloise was Daniel's mother. But I think Ben knew that; I think Ben was surprised (a) to see Desmond and (b) that Desmond knew that Eloise was Daniel's mother.

And don't forget that Ben wants to find Penny and kill her to avenge Alex's death. And now Desmond is with Ben. Wonder what mind games Ben will try with Desmond to find out where Penny is?

Ok, so Kate and Sayid want no part of Ben and Jack and returning to the island. Do you think they'll change their minds? Maybe they'll go to see Hurley, and Hurley will have another conversation with a dead person and that'll make them decide to go back?

I'm not surprised that Charlotte died. We've seen that Daniel can time-travel, so it was also no surprise when she said that Daniel came to see her and warn her not to go to the island because "the island is death."

Sorry - I had another thought. The whole Danielle thing bothers me. Why didn't she recognize Jin when she saw him again after the crash? Yes, I know it's been 16 years, but since Jin was time-traveling, he didn't age during those 16 years and looked the same. Why didn't Danielle show any signs of recognition? Or even "you look very familiar", the way Daniel looked at Ellie (who I think is a young Eloise and Daniel's mother).:confused3

I think nothing surpised Danielle. She just accepted the island was wacky. She may have seen people she knew often over the last 16 years. :confused3

She did a lot of hiding and observing.

Re Ben being surprised to learn that Eloise Hawking was Daniel's mother:

I found this on another Lost discussion board, and it makes a lot of sense:

I disagree. I think Ben was surprised by her being Faraday's mom because Faraday came to the island on Widmore's ship. This connects Ms. Hawkings and Charles Widmore. Widmore funded her son's work and she could be using that work right now to discover where the island is. I don't see Ben as being the kind of person to trust her after finding this out.

Now this puts a different spin on things, doesn't it? Ben is hoping Eloise will help him get the Losties back to the island by "finding" the island again, and now Ben learns that Eloise is Daniel's mom, and DAniel was on his arch enemy's freighter. So now Ben has to figure out if Eloise is helping him (Ben) or Widmore. Hmm.....
