**spoilers*** Lost Season Five **spoilers**

Then why the nosebleeds for Charlotte, Miles and Juliette? They are time traveling with the plane crash survivors and not mind jumping but displaying the same symtoms of Teresa, Desmond, and the guy that died on the boat.

Because they are time traveling and per Daniel's theory (which is probably correct or they wouldn't bother saying it) the current nosebleeds are because of duration on the island.

Maybe the symptoms are the same/similar because it's still time jumping, whether mind or full body. But the reasons for the symptoms aren't the same (constant vs. duration on the island) because one is mind and the other is body.

What was the description of Teresa's illness? I can't remember.

Holy crap. I just found this on a Lost fansite:

the name of Ben's carpet cleaning van is "Canton Rainier," which is an anagram of "reincarnation."
I have no idea what it could mean, but hmmm....(the van was the one he was driving in last night's episode.

What I am confused about is why Juliet is hopping through time while the Others are not. Maybe the temple is important and negates the time travel?

Juliet is not a "real" Other. She's a transplant just like the Losties are.

Well, technically, we don't know what the 'others' are experiencing during these time shifts (just as we don't know what's going on with some of the 'losties' like Rose and Barnard). We haven't been shown that.

'Lost': So what's up with Jin?

By Maria Elena Fernandez
February 6, 2009

It was the sigh of relief heard 'round the “Lost” universe: Jin is alive! He's alive!

When “Lost” viewers last saw Daniel Dae Kim’s Jin, he was standing on a freighter that exploded, as his wife, Sun, watched from a helicopter. Viewers immediately related to Sun's hysterical reaction, delivered by Yunjin Kim. Certainly, Jin would not have been the first "Lost" character to be mourned by fans. But Jin and Sun, the Korean couple who were about to become parents, seem to have touched Losties in a way that made it impossible to begin the grieving process.

The producers assured fans last season that Jin would be seen again -- in life or death. (That's just the way "Lost" rolls.) But those promises didn't go far enough because fans wanted a Jin-Sun reunion.

Nine months later -- in viewer time -- it was revealed Wednesday that Jin survived the explosion, prompting the "Lost" cult to immediately light up message boards and forums with their joy.

Hey Kar!

Did you just start watching this season? I highly recommend you get the DVDs from the library if you are just starting out or are back after an absense. It so much more fun to watch when you can catch the easter eggs and little clues.

So we're all not completely sure why the noses are bleeding. Originally we all thought it had something to do with constants. Last season when people were out of body time jumping, they got the nosebleeds and eventually died and Daniel told us this was because they didn't have a constant to tie them to the past they were jumping to. So when Desmonde was jumping, he had to find Penny in the past and then he called her in the present and that saved him.

But last night Daniel said he thinks that they are getting the nosebleeds based on how long they've been on the island. Charlotte got them first becuase she was on it the longest, which means she had to have been there in her past for quite a while. Myles got one before Juliette, which means he's been on the island longer than her. And since she's been on it for years, we know that he has to have been there before too.

Phew...got it?

:wave2: SARAH!!! And thanks. DS actually has quite a few of the past seasons and I should watch them. ::yes:: I have been dvr-ing LOST and watch each episode 2x before I erase it. AND reading HERE is a huge help as well. :thumbsup2

I really think that we can't compare the old mind jumping to the current time jumping. I think they are two different types of time travel and so don't have the same effects. The people who mind jumped needed constants. The time jumpers don't seem to need them at all.

That's what I think as well. Desmond and them needed a constant because their mind was traveling without the body. The body would get spaced out when it happened. This isn't happening to Charlotte and Miles. I think it is a different thing happening but both happen to have the nose bleeds.

I don't know if this has been posted. I need to get caught up. Does anyone else thing that Miles was the baby in the first episode? The man in all the videos' son?

But Charlotte's looking for where she's from (most likely the island) and Miles could very possibly be the baby that Dr. Candle/Halliwax was taking care of before he went to film the Arrow segment and bumped into Daniel. Both of them have probably spent years on the island earlier in their lives; longer than Juliette and she's been there at least 3 years. Maybe being physically on the island makes the symptoms of the time traveling worse. :confused3

Guess I got my answer...

I think the difference with the "old" time travel/mind jumping is that it happened when they went off the course going to or from the island. We know when Desmond was going to the boat, that the helicopter got off the bearings they were supposed to be on for a minute.

But now those on the island are jumping while still on the island, so it seems to be both mind and body.

But a lot of "OTHERS" were brought to the island if I am not mistaken. They took over for DHARMA and started bringing others (pardon the pun) to the island.

But now those on the island are jumping while still on the island, so it seems to be both mind and body.

Are you saying that when you're physically on the island, both your mind and body travel in time. But when you're off the island, only your mind travels?

Speaking of Jin, I was flipping channels yesterday and came across Spiderman 2 at the point where Doc Ock turns on his machine an loses control of it. Daniel Dae Kim is his assistant that actually turns on the machine.

I'm sure I'm redundant, but Jin was also on the first season or two of 24.

He speaks American just fine. ;)

As well as Angel, working as one of the Wolfram & Hart Employees....Bernard was also on that show for some episodes as the head of the Law firm before he was killed.

Anytime you have a question, just let me know and I'll do my best. I actually haven't missed an episode ever--from the beginning.
