**spoilers*** Lost Season Five **spoilers**

Wow! What a show! I think it gets better each week.:thumbsup2

Where are the rest of the losties (Rose, Bernard,....)? Why aren't they moving with Sawyer, Locke, etc.?

I sure wish we knew! I guess Rose and Bernard got separated from the rest of them when the bad guys were shooting the flaming arrows. I really hoped once they got back to "their" camp they'd reunite with Rose and Bernard, but I guess whoever arrived in those kayaks and destroyed the campe took Rose and Bernard. I hope they're ok!

So what do you think Sun has up her sleeve?

Does she blame Jack or Ben for Jin's "death"?

Loved it! Can't wait to watch it a second time!

I'm pretty sure Sue blames Ben. Of course, Ben will sweet-talk her and get her thinking that maybe Widmore is also responsible, esp. once Ben convinces Sun that Jin IS alive (as we saw in the previews for next week).

OMG all this time travelling is so confusing!

I thought Faraday said they could not manipulate the future. In other words, they cannot "talk" to themselves in the past to change the future. But, then Locke asked why Sawyer didn't talk to Kate. Could he have talked to Kate at that point? Would she have seen him, or are they just spectators to the past? Could they find themselves and talk to themselves? What if say, (far fetched I know) Locke shot Kate when they stumbled upon her while she was delivering Claires baby, would she drop dead in L.A.?

I cannot get my mind around this time travel stuff.

Yeah, that's what I'm confused about, too. I mean, last week Locke talked to Richard in 1954 and told him that his (Locke's) birthday was in 1956 and for Richard to come see for himself. And we do know that Richard WAS there in the hospital when Locke was born, and then came to visit him again when he was 5 or so. So obviously Locke talked to Richard in the past and managed to "alter" the future (assuming Richard wouldn't have gone to the hospital when Locke was born unless he knew he was supposed to).

So what IF Sawyer HAD talked to Kate when he saw her delivering Claire's baby? Hmmm...:scratchin

Sorry if this has been talked about, but...... last night Daniel asked the Miles if he was sure he'd never been on the island before. Well, I was thinking if the Miles guy is the baby that they showed a couple weeks ago in the beginning of the episode. The episode where the narrator Dharma scientist guy (can't remember his name) was waking up and going to the mine where Daniel was. Maybe Miles is the scientist guy's son........

Ooooh, this might be right! I'm jumping onboard this thread, LOVE Lost!!!

That's exactly who he is, the video guys son. Good call!!!

Okay, so here's how I see it. I think they can try to change things, but that it won't work if they do unless it's meant to be. I think the Richard/Locke stuff was supposed to happen and so fate let it. I think if Sawyer had tried to talk to Kate then he would have been forced not to in some way. Maybe get attacked by a boar? And Kate wouldn't hear anything cuz Claire was screaming so loud? See what I mean?

I think pretty much everyone thinks that. I know the spoiler free thread is pretty much in agreement about that one.

I am new to LOST. I love it. I am trying hard to figure all this out. My DS got DH & I hooked on Lost. DH said last night he is now officially "lost" himself. :lmao:

Why are Charlotte and Juliette's noses bleeding? :confused3

Hey Kar!

Did you just start watching this season? I highly recommend you get the DVDs from the library if you are just starting out or are back after an absense. It so much more fun to watch when you can catch the easter eggs and little clues.

So we're all not completely sure why the noses are bleeding. Originally we all thought it had something to do with constants. Last season when people were out of body time jumping, they got the nosebleeds and eventually died and Daniel told us this was because they didn't have a constant to tie them to the past they were jumping to. So when Desmonde was jumping, he had to find Penny in the past and then he called her in the present and that saved him.

But last night Daniel said he thinks that they are getting the nosebleeds based on how long they've been on the island. Charlotte got them first becuase she was on it the longest, which means she had to have been there in her past for quite a while. Myles got one before Juliette, which means he's been on the island longer than her. And since she's been on it for years, we know that he has to have been there before too.

Phew...got it?

OMG You must be right!!:cool1:

I love that idea too. It would be the islands way of stopping them from changing fate. And maybe the island LET the Richard/Locke situation happen because it needed it to?

DH has a theory that the whole thing goes back to the Black Rock (the pirate ship) and that Widmore, Richard, and some other people were actually on the ship. The wheel that Ben turns to mess with time looks a lot like a ships wheel. There's a bunch of other little clues too. That's about as far as his theory goes, lol.
That's my thought, too -- I'd thought it about Widmore, since he bought the painting at the auction. Hadn't thought about Richard, but that makes sense, too (as much sense as it ever makes!

I knew it was Ben going after Kate and the baby, too -- scare her into thinking the only "safe" place for them is back on the island.

But Widmore's aged, Richard hasn't. I think Richard may have been on the ship, but I think Widmore's just interested in it because of its ties to the island. Unless Richard's not aging because he spends most of his time on the island, while Widmore can't go back. :scratchin

I read a theory somewhere today (not sure if I agree with it or not, but its interesting) that Richard is actually 'dead'. Well, as dead as people on the island were. Maybe he was part of the black rock or something, and its not that he's not aging, he's just stuck at that age when he 'died'.

ok forgive me if this is a dumb question but why is Richard always in clothes of our time? Like even when Locke saw him at that camp in the 50's Richard was wearing current day clothes.........

Okay I agree with this theroy but here's where it gets a little strange for me. Desmond was on the island for a long time, two years plus and he started getting the nosebleeds when he started jumping through time with his mind. Note his physical body did not leave the present, his mind with all it's experiences to that point occupied his body in it's past. The current situation has the group on the island physically jumping through time (we think) In other words both body and mind are making the jump. This is evidenced by the fact that Locke gets shot in the past by Ethan, but jumps forward in time to get patched up by Richard. Following so far? Then thinking back to when Desmond first showed up on the ship that Widmore sent, he was put in the room with the guy who had the "sickness" and was time jumping with his mind. That guy died but according to the show he had only taken the zodiac (little boat) and gone near the island. So from what we have been told, and know from watching that would mean that guy had been on the island at some point for a long time in order for him to have gone south so fast.

Then come the real kicker, why has Teresa back in Oxford (Faraday's human lab rat) been able to live so long from doing the mind travel thing? Based on how fast it has effected others she should have died a long time ago. You have to assume that from the time Widmore sent Daniel to the island with the rest of the people on the boat and the two weeks the have been there, (based on Miles statement, " I've only been on the island for two weeks) that Teresa has been in her current stae for at least a month if not more.

They talk about "rules" and explain them in general but have clearly said there are exceptions. "Desmond, your special the rules don't effect you", "Richard has been here forever, he's really old".

But Charlotte's looking for where she's from (most likely the island) and Miles could very possibly be the baby that Dr. Candle/Halliwax was taking care of before he went to film the Arrow segment and bumped into Daniel. Both of them have probably spent years on the island earlier in their lives; longer than Juliette and she's been there at least 3 years. Maybe being physically on the island makes the symptoms of the time traveling worse. :confused3

I really think that we can't compare the old mind jumping to the current time jumping. I think they are two different types of time travel and so don't have the same effects. The people who mind jumped needed constants. The time jumpers don't seem to need them at all.

Then why the nosebleeds for Charlotte, Miles and Juliette? They are time traveling with the plane crash survivors and not mind jumping but displaying the same symtoms of Teresa, Desmond, and the guy that died on the boat.
