We were thinking Ellie is Charlotte's mother, since she's trying to find out where she was born. That bit about Widmore was awesome! Oh, and today's episode has the actor who plays Jin listed as credit only, but next week there's nothing next to his name on imdb.com. Not sure if that's just an oversight, but I really hope we see him soon.

Edit: Nevermind, I forgot that Daniel's rat at Oxford was named Eloise. Ellie could definitely be his mother.

Yep! His Mom's name is Eloise....calls her Ellie for short. Don't worry, I am LOST too! There is so much time between seasons I almost totally forget things from the last seasons.


Well, I say Yes like I am "in the know". Really just a theory of DH and mine. Same name, she looks like someone he knows, etc....

Oh my goodness, that was GREAT! BUT it was so confusing too!

I loved that little bit of info they gave us. Charles Witmore was on the island in the 50's.

Who is Charlette already and why is she the only one being affected so far?

Why would Witmore help Desmond??? That felt like a risky move on Desmond's part.

Naming their son Charlie was wonderful!

Loved it (as usual)! Lots of Desmond-time for me.

My daughters and I had an "awwww" moment when Desmond called his little boy Charlie. That was so sweet that he named him after Charlie.

I just loved it when Sawyer asked Juliet just how old Richard was and she said he was "old" (or really old, I can't remember her exact words). I wonder just how old he really is and how long he has been on the island.

Charles Widmore on the island fifty years earlier....I wonder what happened and how he ended up off the island.

I still believe that Mrs. Hawking is Daniel's mother.

I think at one point Widmore was leader of the Others, and then Ben came along and took over and threw Widmore off the island. Which is why Widmore told Ben that the island was his and will be again. I think Widmore was bankrolling Daniel's research into time travel so Widmore could go back in time and undo whatever Ben did to overthrow Widmore.

I think Widmore was helping Desmond because of Penny - he knows Ben is looking for her to avenge Alex's death, and maybe Widmore hopes that if he helps Desmond it might help to keep Penny safe (and maybe get rid of Ben in the process).

What makes you think she's not Daniel's mom? Yes, when he was in past, Daniel told Desmond to find his mother at Oxford; in the present, Desmond went to Oxford and Daniel's mother wasn't there, but Desmond found out that Widmore was bankrolling Daniel's research. Desmond went to see Widmore to find out where Daniel's mother was, and Widmore gave him an address in LA, which is where Ben and the lady lighting candles are. I'm pretty sure that lady IS Daniel's mom.

So the girl - Teresa - that Daniel was experimenting on that Desmond went to see - does anyone else think that the girl holding the gun on Sawyer could be her mother? And possibly Charles Whidmore, her father? Daniel kept staring at her and said she reminded him of someone and she looked a lot like Teresa. And since Whidmore was on the island at that time and was funding the research for Daniel - it kind of makes sense to me. Did I make sense to anyone here?

I was originally thinking it could be her, but then today I did a lot of searching on Lost discussion boards. It seems the major theory is that the girl w/the gun to Daniel (Ellie) is actually Daniels mother, Mrs. Hawking, which is why she looked familiar to him.

When Desmond went to Oxford and found Daniel's work room. Didn't he find a picture of Daniel with a girl? I thought the girl holding Daniel by gunpoint was the same girl in that picture.

I disagree - remember, Widmore told Desmond that wherever he and Penny had been hiding the past 3 years, to go back there and keep Penny safe? I don't think it's a setup at all.
