But what I'm saying is that according to Desmond not knowing Eloise shouldn't have known because it hadn't happened it Daniel's present yet. Am I making any sense?
Nevermind. I just remembered that Charlotte remembered what Daniel said before he said it.
No, you're making perfect sense and I DO understand! If you follow the "whatever happened, happened" theory, then if Eloise shot Daniel in 1977 when he time-traveled, then it happened in her past, so that's why she would remember. Same with Charlotte - the time-traveling Daniel told the little girl Charlotte not to come back to the island, so she remembered it.
And you're asking why Desmond didn't remember Daniel banging on the hatch door when Daniel time-traveled - Desmond didn't have that memory until Daniel actually did it in 2007 (when he flashed back to whatever year Desmond was in the hatch). IF the same theory applied to Desmond, then he SHOULD have remembered. But Daniel said in that episode that "the rules" don't apply to Desmond. Of course nobody has explained yet what's so special about Desmond that the rules don't apply to him, nor have they explained WHAT the rules are that don't apply to him!

Does that make sense?
