**spoilers*** Lost Season Five **spoilers**

Well, that's Penny! Does this mean she's leaving LOST?

Oh, I hope not!! But Penny doesn't really have a huge role, more like a guest star - maybe she can do both?

Here's another theory I have: what if they DO succeed in changing the past, and the plane doesn't crash? Would that explain all the dead people (Christian, Charlie, Claire, Eko, et al) who are still appearing to the Losties? Maybe they're not meant to be dead in 2004-2007, so the Losties were sent back to 1977 FOR THE PURPOSE OF CHANGING THE PAST so that these people don't die? Does this make sense to you? Yes, Christian was already dead on the plane, but if the Losties change what happened in 1977, maybe that snowballs to the point where Christian doesn't die in Australia after all.

What do you think?

That is a very interesting theory and would explain alot, but like someone said in an earlier post: If the losties change time so that they didn't crash on the island, then they wouldn't be able to go back in time and stop the incident from happening. It is all just one giant circle.

Believe it or not, Jack's plan to uncrash Oceanic 815 may not be foolproof! "If you're wrong, everyone dies," says Kate. Not so much, it's just that one cascade of mistakes that leads to that one person tragically dying. Of course, someday we'll say that person's death was necessary and right, and that it closed certain important chapters in the story, and gave certain other season-six stories the launching pad they needed to really take off, but for now...it's going to suck. As we've said in the past, brace yourself for pain on the scale of Charlie's death.

Please don't be Sawyer. :sad1:

Oh, no! Even though there are some people that I don't like....Jack, Kate.....I really hate to see anyone that has been on this show for a long time end up dying. It can't be Sawyer and I definitely don't want to lose Desmond. :sad1::sad1:

DarkUFO has photos from the next episode, "Follow the Leader" loaded up.

Looks like Locke, Ilana (is that her name?) and her people, Sun, Ben and Richard and the others go on a journey led by Locke. So then, where the heck is Captain Lapidus (Frank)??? Last we saw, he was punched. :confused3

Well, that's Penny! Does this mean she's leaving LOST?

Penny is a recurring character. I'm sure her contract allows for outside projects. The can't hold her hostage to Lost and only use here for a few episodes a season.

As for the incident. It think Daniel's plan is part of what happens. Remember when we first saw Desmond and learned about the Swan they were concerned about radiation. I posed this on the no spoiler thread too. But Bomb = radiation. No bomb, no radiation. So why would Kelvin and Desmond be concerned with radiation and in hazmat suits and on lock down when supplies were delivered if there were no radiation.

IF they are able to stop the "incident" what would happen to their 1977 selfs?

This show is way confusing. I did just start this season though.

Looks like it is for a new show...

Five times during "Lost" Wednesday night, a tiny image appeared inside a black screen, followed by the words "What did you see?" Don't worry -- it's not still another mystery of the island.

But the clips, and the web site TheMosaicCollective.com, are is the first public peek at something ABC hopes will capture the attention of "Lost" fans come fall. The three blips, to which the Hollywood Reporter first alerted us, were promos for a new series called "Flash Forward" that's all but certain to be part of the network's 2009-10 schedule.

(Standard disclaimer about how things could still change between now and May 19, when ABC announces its schedule for next season. But given that the show got a series commitment early in its development life and now these promos, it's a pretty safe bet.)

The promos didn't show us much: The images were of someone surfing, a sonogram, a group of kids leaving school, a bride and groom kissing and pallbearers carrying a coffin. But the question -- "What did you see?" -- will be a central theme of the series.

The show is based on Robert J. Sawyer's novel and follows the fallout from a cataclysm in which the world's entire population blacks out for just over two minutes. In addition to dealing with the chaos that ensues when everyone wakes up -- everything from car crashes to people walking off rooftops -- people soon come to realize that they all had a vision of their futures. The network says that those investigating the event will have only "a huge mosaic of people's flash forwards" to go on -- hence the Mosaic Collective title for the aforementioned site.

"Flash Forward" was created by David S. Goyer and Brannon Braga, who worked together on CBS' "Threshold" a few years back and between them have sci-fi and thriller credits that include "Batman Begins," the "Blade" films (Goyer) and several "Star Trek" series and "24" (Braga).

The pilot stars Joseph Fiennes, "Lost's" own Sonya Walger, Courtney B. Vance, Christine Woods and John Cho.

Ok, that makes more sense then my ridiculous theory. I'm really curious about this show. It's a big stretch, but I hope it can fill in the void LOST will leave.

Wasn't losing Faraday enough?!

:sad2:
Wasn't losing Faraday enough?!

It was terrible. Watching him come to the realization that his own mother betrayed him as he passed was just awful. I'm screaming who could do such a thing. I know when she shot him she didn't know but she sure did know when she sent him back. :headache:

I am leaning towards it being Sayid. If it is Sawyer or Hurley I will be devistated. :sad1:

Will that be possible? :upsidedow

Oh I know!! That was heartbreaking!!

Regarding the major death....some characters have been ruled out already by various sources.

The ones I remember off the top of my head are Jack, Kate, Penny and Sayid ...edited to add.... and I thought I also heard that Juliet was spared as well.

I say Hurley is the one to die.....assuming it's not Jack, Kate or Sayid (who've been reported as safe)

Too many ladies like it when Sawyer forgets to put a shirt on! ;)

I agree, what could be more gut wrenching than when Charlie died--our big Teddy bear, Hurley dying. :sad2:

OMG! So I just finished watching last nights episode and it was so great and heart wrenching. I thought it was just so sad when Daniel asks his mom if going to the island would make her proud of him. He just looked so sad and pathetic. Faraday was great in this episode. He is one of my favorite characters in the show and I really hope he doen't stay dead.

My heart just ached for him. He seemed to try so hard to get her approval and it was all for nothing. That was the worst part! She knew what would happen when he went back :sad2:

Any of the characters will be a bit sad to see die because they have all been there from the beginning and even if we don't like that character, we've gotten attached to them and how they interact with everyone else. Hurley's death would make me the most upset. I adore him and everything about him. He's just one of those characters that has never done a bad thing and has never hurt or harmed anyone. I hope it is not him. I can't imagine season 6 without him. :sad1:

That new show will have some pretty big shoes to fill especially if they are promoting it as the show that will be taking the place of LOST.

Hurley would be the only one that would even come close the the scale of Charlie for me.

What I don't understand is that Daniel seemed to think his mother knew she was sending him back to the island so he could be shot by her. How did she know this? Remember when Daniel visited Desmond? Desmond didn't know about it until Daniel did it in his "present" time. So wouldn't Daniel's mother have to be the same way? She shouldn't have known. But it seemed to me like she knew.

Yes, Eloise knew. She shot Daniel back in 1977, HER past. As Daniel died and he told her that he was her son, I'm assuming Kate and Jack will come along and explain to Eloise and Richard that they're from the future and that Daniel really WAS Eloise's son. Eloise apparently operates under the "what happened, happened" theory - you can't change the past. The entire time Daniel was growing up, she knew that she was going to kill him. So when Widmore wants to send Daniel back to the island on his freighter, Eloise told Daniel to go even though she knew she would shoot and kill him because she believed that she couldn't change anything that happened.

I'm a person who DOES believe that you can change the past. If I were Eloise, I would have told Daniel NOT to go on the freighter just to see if I could keep him safe and off the island so he wouldn't time-travel and I wouldn't shoot him. But I guess Eloise felt she had no choice but to send him, because if she shot him once, she'll always shoot him.

ETA: this whole time-travel thing is way too weird. I like the Back To The Future method of time travel!

But what I'm saying is that according to Desmond not knowing Eloise shouldn't have known because it hadn't happened it Daniel's present yet. Am I making any sense?

Nevermind. I just remembered that Charlotte remembered what Daniel said before he said it.
