Hey all, last few days have been busier than usual. Started to toss some things in basket to pack, as is my norm. Learned long ago, it’s less stressful to have those bags packed a couple of days early as some last minute something or other always tends to spring up.
SWA released their schedule thru mid May. To say I was underwhelmed would be an understatement. Wound up booking Allegiant into SFB for start of that trip in April. Going to wait it out for flight home in May. Allegiant doesn’t fly the day we want to head back.
Spirit declared bankruptcy yet again. Not only am I not going to book them again until the dust settles, can’t help worrying they may cancel our flight down next Monday. May the force be with us there.
Have not been feeling the best last few days. Hoping this passes so I feel 100% for vacation. Good news is the bruising in my foot is almost gone. Will celebrate all the victories big and small.
Indeed, get better, there are monsters waiting to chase you around.
Not sure why but I do dislike trying to make decisions on what to pack the night before I leave.
See above. I keep a bug out bag of sorts ready. Mostly, toiletries and the basic stuff one needs when away from home. The clothes vary by season & park though
have my massage, hair and pedicure appts this week. Don’t want to look to raggedy on vacation..LOL
Hair for me Friday. Ordered cuticle oil and new manicure tools, my version of mani - pedi. Have never had one, just can’t get past having a stranger poking at my hands & feet. Hair, I have no issue, go figure.
Then we took the bus back to MK, and did take out lunch at Steak 71. Both of us said, we’d stick with the quick service next time. I have to say, after having steak there three times, we’d place it as a low ranked steak place, as odd cuts
Wow. You are surely in the minority there from all I know. It’s the only restaurant we do visit every trip. The lunch club is stellar, heads & shoulders above the Plaza & less $ for it lol. The lunch steak there is strip loin, it’s ok. I’ve had it a few times, inherently a bit of a chewy cut, especially if cooked past med rare.
Dinner, nom…filet is as good as any in WDW (we’ve had them all over the years), a good $20 less to boot lol. Makes it taste just a bit better. Prime rib another good choice, as is the Salmon. The Mr says the NY Strip is good, have never had it. I always say I’m going to order the Pork Chop, people rave about it. However, the steak always wins out.
Don’t get me started on how good the chocolate cake is…i will go on & on
I plan to spend the day house cleaning. It has gotten severely neglected while I was sick
Seriously, it drives me crazy how that happens. Even when “they try”, you look around and marvel how they managed to get to that point.
My school won its first football game of the season on Saturday.
Woohoo! Today, we pulled out the new Steeler flag that was gifted to the Mr earlier this year. A really nice, heavy weight one. Taking a good look at it, realized it’s not the sort to slip onto the wooden pole we have. Grommets? Need to get a different pole for it or try to rig it up somehow.
I’m still pouting
I wonder how close to $100 it will get before I arrive.
Several of our nights dropped to $106. We were marveling over it. Of course, the weekend is double. Still, we are pleasantly surprised by the lowest rate in ages
We have a bag of ponchos and rain jackets.
I liked the idea of a rain jacket for the bookbag, never heard of that. We don’t do book bags in the parks. I’ll do a larger fanny pack @ U, big enough to hold water bottle, etc. WDW I do one of my
Loungefly mini backpacks. Surprising how much they can hold.
the mr has his cargo pants. Watching him pull stuff out reminds me of how many pile out of a clown car lol.
I pack our nice, cloth ponchos, the heavy park plastic ones & then the $ store light weight ones. Even if it’s not supposed to rain, the latter make the trip. Caught one too many times in a downpour there.
We have the SPF big bucket sort of hats that are rain resistant too. I always have mine with me.
Honestly, the gear you need in the Orlando parks reminds me of going camping
Good afternoon from HS, waiting for our lunch, and here it us
That or the turkey sandwich (surprisingly good) is my order @ Woody’s. One of the few CS places that grub we enjoy. They’ve been rather stingy with the tomato soup the last few times. The totchos, i can take or leave. Won’t turn down their ‘pop tarts’ lol
Carole you are missed on the Sans.
So true
I put the top down on hubby’s sports car this morning and took a drive over to Cotsco and filled the gas tank
That sounds like fun
will be heading to the AKL later tonight, for our nighttime safari. Both of us are looking forward for night vision glasses and to see some animals at night.
Have you done it before? Most seem to like it, nice opportunity to see the animals up & personal. We have seen the vehicles roaming about many times from our various balconies there over the years. I always think to myself “…get off my lawn…” lol. It’s funny, the animals don’t blink an eye. Guess since it’s all they’ve ever known.
