We are booked at the GF for 2 weeks. We originally wanted to stay at the WL [our favorite], but we have 3 kids and my DD isn't an infant anmore so we wouldn't fit. My mom has decided to join us for 5 days so for the first 5 days of our trip, I just switched to the WL & one of the kids can stay in her room. To make things more confusing, I am an AP holder & they had 2 nights avail. for the woods view and the remaining 3 nights avail for the courtyard view w/everything else sold out for AP's. I went ahead and booked. The reservations look like we are coming and departing 3 times between the 2 different room categories at WL and then the remainder of our trip at the GF. I just hope the WL will not make us switch rooms during our 5 day stay there - do you think they will? Has anyone switched rooms or resorts when staying at WDW? Since we are there for 2 weeks, is it a good idea to try 2 different resorts? Any info or advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

You should have no problem switching resorts on a 2 week stay - that is a very comfortable amount of time and one switch is no big deal - Disney will transfer your luggage for you.

when you check into the WL, I would carefully explain the situation with your multiple reservations and show them the confirmations and specifically request to be able to stay in the same room the whole time. In fact, I would probably fax the hotel a few days in advance and provide copies of your confirmations and tell them the situation and that you want to make sure you don't have to switch rooms - they should accommodate that request with advance warning. Don't worry about it. They can "pre assign" your second reservation to the same room you are given when you check in, so you shouldn't have to move.

Have a good time.

Last summer we split two weeks at 4 resorts: WL, AKL, Dolphin, Contemporary. We really enjoyed the pros in each resort. AKL was our favorite to hang out in, Dolphin our favorite for location between Epcot and MGM, Contemporary for the monorail, WL for the seclusion. Some people would never do this but we had a car and enjoyed ourselves. This summer we are staying at VWL, BCV, and BWV. "Variety is the spice of life!" :)

JLS - Thank you for all of your great info! Thanks also for your great ideas on how to make it all work out. I will deifinately give your ideas a try! I appreciate it!

Caskar - how fun to try so many different resorts! Here I was all worried about trying 2 different resorts and you try many more than that - sounds like fun! Thanks for your input!
