Split stay, Dolphin to BLT

Hi!, We are doing a split stay (our first ever) with 2 little kids and luggage. What do we need to do to make sure our luggage gets transferred on our move day? Can we ask the hotels to do this for us (so we don't have to move it ourselves?

Probably not if you're going from the Dolphin to BLT. Since the Dolphin isn't technically a Disney hotel despite being on Disney property, the Bell Services there is not connected to the Disney Bell Services. We recently stayed at two Disney hotels because we just got married at Disney. We are Vacation Club members and then went to the Dolphin for two days. Since we had a bundle of luggage and a wedding dress, we took a taxi from the Polynesian to the Dolphin. It cost us about $15.00, but they helped us with our luggage and brought us right to the front door. If your room isn't ready yet, Bell Services will hold your luggage at BLT (My favorite) and you can call them when you return to the room later. You will need to be in your room to receive your luggage unlike when the Magical Express brings it.

Yes, although the Swan and Dolhpin are not WDW operated resorts, they will transfer your luggage to a WDW resort (such as BLT). Just ask bell services at the Dolphin for assistance. The luggage may not arrive at BLT until late afternoon, however, and you will need to be present in your room to have it delivered, so, if you need items during the day, you should pack a day bag. The alternative is to take a cab over to BLT with your bags and have bell services hold them for you there until your room is ready. This may be difficult if you need car seats for your children, however. An alternative may be to send one adult in the cab to BLT with the luggage while the other adult takes the children to wherever it is you have chosen to spend the day and then meet up after the luggage is dropped off.

Yes - I can double confirm that the Dolphin will transfer your luggage to BLT as stated above, we have done this many times to and from Swan or Dolphin.
