Split stay Dining plan question

So, we are doing a split stay between two resorts, no gap in between.

And we have dining plan for both stays.

My question is: For the transfer day, do we have to check in to the new resort and get new set of magic bands first before using the dining credits for the second part of stay? Or is it all linked under our name that they would automatically come up right on that day?

I am asking because for that "transfer day", we plan to go to park first, and then go to check-in at the second resort at night. But I need to use the dining credits under the second stay during that day.

It should not be a problem if you've checked in online, but it might not be a bad idea to stop by guest services (before you go eat) at whatever park you're visiting that day to verify that it's all linked properly and activated on your magic bands.

And be sure you've used all the credits from the first stay before you start using the credits from the second stay. Or at least get a print out when you check out of what is left on your first stay's DDP. You CANNOT combine credits from the two stays to "pay" for a 2 TS meal either.

You don't need a new set of magic bands. The ones you already have should work fine on the second reservation as well.
