Split Stay Crazy?

So right now my itinerary is building up to look like the following:

1 night at Swan
3 nights at Boardwalk Inn - 1 Bedroom Villa
3 nights at Copper Creek - Studio

We are going in late November. Can't find any availability at Boardwalk Inn for our first night in any size room because it would be easier to move rooms within the same resort.

So - I am figuring Swan would be a great option if we're moving the next day to Boardwalk.

But would love to hear peoples thoughts if you have ever done a split stay like this? Or as crazy as this?

Do you have a car? We split stay almost every trip. We did 3 once and it was fine. But I have my car. If o had to rely on Disney transferring everything I would not. My daughter flys and meets us there and just us transferring her luggage to her, and her transferring it back to us to take home is always such a process. (We drive and take her luggage to save her baggage fees). I always hear everyone say how easy it is but the 5-6 times we’ve done it, not so much.

I don't think it's crazy .

On our last trip with did 3 nights Coronado/4 nights SOG/2 nights AoA. We had a blast staying at different resorts. We did have a car for 3/4 of the trip, so that made it easier. (DH left to go home after settling us at AoA). The next trip we're doing 1 night SOG/3 nights Coronado. Not sure how I'm feeling about just 1 night before moving though! I'm still toying with adding one and dropping 1 night at Coronado.

We definitely will have a car for at least 2 days on this one, we might return it once we get over to Coronado.

That one night room will be a little bit of a pain, but not too bad since you are within walking distance to the Boardwalk and can just walk your luggage over there yourself. The only "issue" I would see is if you are planning to take DME from the airport. You won't be able to take it from the airport to the Swan, so you will have to make other travel arrangements. Again, not a huge issue, just something you will need to plan for.

When we stayed at the Swan, we took an Uber from the airport. It was about $35. I found it to be pretty convenient, as we only had to wait about 5 minutes from the time we ordered the Uber. So, if you go that route, make sure you have made all of your bathroom stops before you order your Uber.

Your split stay is very much like what we do. A few nights at the BW area and a few nights at the MK area.

Love split stays and ALWAYS purposely do. As Shellyred8 said, we like BW area and MK area. Plus you get new room, new towels and new amenities (when that was the norm).
As DH says, "it's like a whole new vacation."

My husband I used to do this pre-kids and we would pack light. If you have children I would not do it....

Our trip in May is going to be 4 nights, studio BWV, 3 nights 1 bedroom club level at AKL and 1 night studio at jumbo.

I love split stays! We only do one big vacation a year and Disney not very often. You get to stay at the hotels you want while not taking a separate trip. You can also extend a trip if you want top stay within a certain budget.
My last trip we wanted to do 7 nights at AKL but couldn't find a standard room for all the nights. So first night at ASMu and the rest of the stay at AKL. It even saved us some money.
Next year we are staying the 7 night and staying the whole time at GDT but moving to CL last 2 nights. I am thinking of adding one more night at ASMu for arrival to extend our trip to 8 nights. Still have to convince my DP, but I have some time still to talk him into it. lol
