Split stay between DVC room categories

Hi all! I'm so excited to be finally going to Aulani. My dd and I will be there from July 25-29. I managed to snag 2 rooms on DVC points, but they are different categories... One a poolside studio and the other a Island studio. The rooms were only available in the middle of our stay, so I booked the same categories, poolside and island view DVC rooms in hopes that we will only need to move once during our stay. Has anyone ever done this? I'm a TA so I booked the cash rooms on the Disney site. I thought i would ask here before calling member services if I am able to link the reservations so we only need to make 1 move. Tia!

If you have a split stay between island view and pool view, you will have to move rooms. Maybe I misunderstood your question, but that usually is the "problem" of booking 2 different room categories because they are different locations and would require a move. I wonder though if say for example, you started out in an island view category, then were booked for a poolview(higher category) if you were "willing" to stay in the island view category, would the front desk "make this happen"...Just wondering, but haven't had any first hand experience...

I called member services this morning. I know I will need to switch rooms with the different categories. I booked 2 rooms cash, the first being pre DVC stay and the last being the last day. Since I booked the cash res for a pool view and island view (same as DVC res) I was wondering if we would have to change rooms every day of our 4 nights or only between our category change.

Anyway, the cash and point res were not able to be linked, but he did make a detailed comment. I'm hoping for only 1 move during our 4 days.
