We are in planning phase for a trip to Hawaii next May 2027 and thinking of a split stay between Hale Koa and Aulani, then doing Disneyland for 3 days on way back to east coast. There is 4 of us, me, my spouse and our 2 boys 18 and 22. We’ve been to Hale Koa before but this is our first time to Aulani. How many days would everyone suggest for the Aulani portion, assuming we plan to stay at the resort the whole time. Right now we are thinking 8 days for Hale Koa (time for tours etc,) Then 4 days at Aulani to relax do laundry, then 3 at Disneyland then home. Will 4 days be enough at Aulani?

My typical advice for staying at Aulani and not leaving is 3 days, but also agree that 4 would probably be fine without too getting bored.

I am planning this right now, but in Sept 2026. We will be 4 adults and infant and 2 yr old & possibly 6 1/2yr old. 3 days seems to be the vote, but can anyone expand on that? I keep checking the website & I see tons of activities for my 6 yr old granddaughter. We will stay there, no offsite tours. (My dd & her husband/kids live on Oahu.) I was hoping 2 nights would be enough, then stay checkout day at pool before we go home. Thanks so much!

2 nights 3 days should be plenty of time if not leaving the resort. Many activities and pools to use for that time. We went for 10 days, but probably 4 of those we did not leave the resort.

My family usually does 4 nights at Aulani and 3 nights in Waikiki. We enjoy Aulani and how mellow that side of the island is. My family also likes the party atmosphere in Waikiki so we stay there too.

So, funny, I am researching the Waikiki hotels too! I haven't been over to Oahu in 18 years! Any particular hotels in Waikiki you like?
