and what I learned today.
We have a split stay scheduled with 4 nights at two different resorts (with a dining plan at each resort).
Today was my 180+10 day for the first resort so I went online to try to book all of my reservations for the entire trip (using the first resort's reservation number).
I didn't have any problem booking ADRs for dates during the first resort stay.
I also didn't have any problem booking ADRs for the second resort stay PROVIDED the restaurant didn't require credit card pre-pay (e.g., CRT, HDDR, etc.) AND I tried to circumvent that by using my dining plan.
For example, I had no problem booking 'Ohana for a night during the second resort stay. But when I tried to book CRT for a morning during the second resort stay, while the system would let me make the reservation, it would not let me use my dining plan to circumvent pre-paying.
Thinking I might have better luck over the phone, I called and explanined the situation to the CM (basically, that I want to use the first reservation to book CRT but then use the dining credits from the second reservation to circumvent pre-paying). She told me the system would not allow her to do this and, as a result, I basically had 3 choices:
(1) I could book CRT for any date during my first resort stay and use my first resort dining plan to circumvent credit card pre-pay.
(2) I could wait until the 180+10 day for my second resort stay and then use the second resort dining plan to circumvent credit card pre-pay.
(3) I could book CRT for my second resort stay now by pre-paying, and then get reimbursed using the second resort dining plan when I eat at the restaurant.
I opted for choice 2 (hopefully our desired time, which is currently available, will still be there 4 days from now).
