Splash ride vehicle configuration

Splash is one of my favorite rides.

You can sit two side by side on the very last seat of the log. All the other seats are only one person no matter the size.

The front seat is not suppose to have anyone under 5 feet in it but like someone posted earlier in this thread, they don't seem to be measuring adults that are close to 5 feet. Children most likely would be questioned if they are close to 5 feet.

From what I have gathered this new rule is because little ones duck down on the drop to avoid the water and then get bumped by the log. I also understand - but don't know for sure - that they are suppose to be doing something to the logs that would keep kids from ducking down and then they will resume letting them sit in front.

I am a little confused. If you look at the allears link (and first photo), it looks like only 5 people can fit in a log. The last photo has 6 people (one being a young child). There will be 6 of us visiting DL for our first trip in June. We always get the WDW Splash photo and wanted one from this trip to add to the wall. Am I right in understanding that all 6 of us won't be in the same log? (DH, Myself, Sister - 27, Sister - 24, DD 14, DS 12)

There is that back seat that we've been mentioning, that can fit two people (adult and child most likely) side by side. It's behind the last divider in the allears picture.

Went last month with two under 5' girls. My DD asked to sit in the front, the CM told her she could be first but had to sit in the 2nd seat. He just left the front seat empty.

When DD was younger and wouldn't sit alone, I would request the back seat and sit with her. That is the only place for 2 people to sit next to each other.

Thanks! Since I am the shortest person in the group (at 5' 2"), I don't know that any of us could fit side by side in the last seat. While the kids are close to my height, my DH and sisters are all 5'9" and taller! It would be very snug for 6 of us, I am guessing.

Here's a pic of me (yay) sitting in the back seat by myself. As you can see there's plenty of space and I could easily slide over to one side and someone could sit next to me. Whether it's safe or allowed I do not know.

Yep! That's where DBF sat last ride. There was room for me to sit, but we didn't figure it out until we started moving..

My son used to LOVE sitting in the front. He's gonna be bummed this time, he's about an inch short of the new requirement I believe. Having his Dad right behind him always made him feel secure. Here's a few pictures of them. DS is in the front, with DH behind him:

that is where DD8 and I sat last trip, we were side by side so yes, it is allowed. The problem? You can't see her in the picture. Oh well, money saver for us, money loser for DL. LOL

DLR29, thanks for posting that picture. :goodvibes

I noticed another really good picture of 6 adults in the boat, showing the wide back seat, in the "ladies only" trip thread on page 69 of that thread. :) No one is side-by-side, but it's a good shot of the boat (and them!).

Good point! Maybe Allears has a photo of an old log? There are definitely 6 people in JenDisneylandlver's post!

But you can see that bench part of the back seat in the allears picture, so I don't know if it's an old picture. :)

Yes, they are single except for the very back seat which can seat 2 people. CM's usually put an adult and child pair back there or just one adult. That would be the only seat that could fit 2 people. A child also can not ride in the front seat (there is a height restriction - can't remember what it is though)
They have now fixed this (last that I heard) and the front seat is pretty much kids only, there is no way an adult (at least on over 5'-6") could have fit in that seat before and they made the space even smaller.
