Just a heads up to anyone going to ride splash mountain.

Some of the logs are so GROSS! The last few times we have been on the ride we get the logs with the nastiest mildewed lap bars. If you put your hands on them for half a second your hands will stink terribly. Heaven forbid you hold on for dear life. Just bleh!!!!!

Someone bleach the logs for Pete's sake!!!:rotfl2:

The water in Splash Mountain and other water rides is "chlorinated" like swimming pool water. Actually they use bromine instead of chlorine (the chemical behavior is quite similar) but there is still an odor to the water.

It's not that strong; undiluted bleach is hazardous to touch for a long time and also the smell is much stronger.

This has been my experience on just about every "flume" ride I've ever been on. It's nothing new or surprising to me. I suggest hand washing or even so antibacterial wipes if you are concerned. That said, Disney surfaces (any public surface really) are pretty gross anyway because of how many people touch them. Good hand washing skills are a must for anyone at an amusement park!
