Splash Mountain vs Expedition Everest

Better ride?

Not really a fair comparison because they are such different rides. As much as I like Splash, I give Everest the edge because, most times, I don't want to get drenched.

A better contest would be EE vs. BTMRR (Everest wins hands down in that match-up!) or EE vs. RnRR (still Everest!).

Splash is waaaaay better.
It has several places with great views, it's stupidly funny - nostalgic (if you're old, like me) it's longer, the drop is a riot, and it's relatively close to Aloha Isle (I mean, cmon, anything near Aloha Isle gets an extra point - except for Pecos Bill.)

I love the front row of Everest, and always do it multiple times, and Everest isn't BAD, but imo, Splash is the clear winner.

thats a tough one. two of my favorite rides at any theme park. had to vote splash because i've been riding it forever.

Hands down Expedition Everest for us. After rope dropping FOP we go to Everest and ride it 6-7 times before the park gets crowded. Then later in the day when the waits go down we go ride it some more. We also enjoy the queue more and a new Expedition Everest T-shirt is a must for me every trip. Plus I have a super fondness for the red Himalayan Escapes tours and expedition flying yak sign.

Everest is a great ride but the whole fam can ride Splash Mountain. gotta go with splash mountain.

Best queue...Everest....single rider (normal times) which makes little waiting time...no chance to get wet. ..best overall coaster in WDW... I think Splash can be somewhat boring for me (except for the crows before the last drop)...although the kids love it....perhaps Princess and the Frog will change that... I am sure during my August trip I will be begging for some "splash" though. ;)

I completely agree, Splash Mtn for me. My daughter (8) has agreed to go on Splash when we are there next week. EE is just not going to happen with her this trip.

The queue for EE is far better, and I love the ride. If only the Yeti was working . . .
But, the length of the ride for Splash is so much longer, the story along the ride, and more story after the drop.

Big Thunder tops out at about 35 mph while Expedition Everest tops out around 50 mph.

You essentially picked my 2 favorite rides to go against each other. In the end, I picked EE. I love a good roller coaster. The views are beautiful. It has just the right amount of thrill to keep me both screaming and laughing. Oh, and it is in my favorite park. Yup. EE, it is.

EE was a one and done for DW and me. Now in our 60's, we just don't enjoy extreme thrill rides anymore. Virtigo and motion sickness abounds!
That might be the first time I've heard Everest described as an extreme thrill ride haha. It's pretty mild as far as coasters go. But motion sickness is never fun.

I really enjoy both of them, but overall I don't think they compare. I give Splash the edge, as it is more of an immersive story telling experience with a little thrill added. Where as, EE is a full-on thrill ride with a little disco story added.
