Splash Mountain seating position

Rode Splash Mountain a number of times last week and was curious about something ...

I prefer to sit in the back of the boat/log because you don't get nearly as wet riding back there. But I've noticed that when you tell a cast member that you would like to sit in the back they act annoyed.

Is there a reason for this? I wouldn't think it would matter to them.

Seems as though my first reply didn't post. Anyway, we have asked for the backrow on SM several times and have never had any problems with CM's being annoyed. I think it is probably a pain for them to take special requests when they are just trying their best to keep the line moving as quickly and efficiently as possible, especially when it's crowded. However, in the end if you choose to wait for a backrow seat you really aren't inconveniencing anyone but yourself.
