Splash Mountain - How wet do you get?

We have not been on Splash Mountain before. Why? Because my family does not like water rides, especially where you can get wet enough where part of you is soaked. (Soaked through your shirt, shorts from the water left on the seat of the previous ride, etc.) and then have to walk around the park that way. We'd rather go to a water park to get really wet.

A friend of ours told me that we HAVE to do Splash Mountain because it is such a great ride, so...how wet do you really get?

It's a flume ride, so you get splashed, but not soaked through wet (at least I never have ). If you're not in the front seat, maybe a splash to the sides/hair. Even in the front seat, I've dried out pretty quickly.

depeneds usually not very wet but occasionally soaked depends where you sit and every few logs will get blasted with water cannons on the fall

It depends. Sometimes soaked, sometimes not. The water cannons are random (though usually turned off in cooler weather). Sometimes, if there is a backup, you get stopped in front of this waterfall near the end. If that happens and you are on the right side of the boat, your're basically taking a bath.

I miss the water cannon in the Briar Patch when you go around the bend right before the first big incline. Nothing like getting blasted with water from 15 feet away

To reiterate what others have said, we've had everything from "a little wet" to "soaked".

It varies, but you most definitely can get completely soaked! We rode about 6 times a few weeks ago. At least twice, I could have wrung my clothes out, and and one trip my little guy looked like he'd been under a shower. Plus the seats are usually wet when you get in... Soaked pants and underwear. But we love it and would never skip it!

It definitely varies. My mom is contemplating not riding because she doesn't want to get wet (and we have rode it several times before) but I'm just suggesting she wear a poncho so she can enjoy it (there's so many things she doesn't ride that I hate for her to miss something she does ride).

I'm one of the ones that always gets soaked to the skin, which I'm not fond of. I don't ride it unless it's raining and I have on rain gear anyway, that way I don't look dorky for wearing it and I don't get wet.

We have gotten really soaked, but this is a must-do ride for us. We always bring some Dollar Store ponchos and throw them away afterwards.

Not everyone who rides it gets soaked. But usually at least one or two people per log will get drenched to the point where it looks as if they stood underneath a waterfall.

We WANT to get soaked, to the point of not being 100% satisfied with the ride if we don't. We always ask for the front two rows, then put the kids in the very front.

Of course, our son is 6' tall now, so it's not the same as it was when he was a little kid

They must also be able to control how much water is flowing through thus how much "splash" there is. In January when it was cold out it was still running but there was very little splash and people were not getting wet.

You usually just get a little splash from the actual drop. However, you may get soaked.

That's the water cannon. They add splash sometimes, but not when the weather is cooler. I'm sure the flume's actual water level must be kept constant for the boats to work. Weight and loading of passengers of your boat can make a difference too.

We rode in early Feb sitting in the last row. The ppl in the front row got wet (face and hair, I don't think they were drenched). We were lightly sprinkled. The little waterfall mentioned in post #5 was turned off. In July, we rode something like 8 times. Never more than lightly splashed, but I never ride in the first or second rows.

You can get a little wet, or you can get soaked! Sometimes it will come up from the sides too. If you wear a poncho you should be good.

You generally can get soaked in the front row, usually even the 2nd row definitely isn't as bad and so on

This ride is NOT to be missed!! Sometimes a little wet sometimes a lot, but worth it regardless
