Splash Mountain BREAKDOWN (???)

time ta be turnin around
time ta be turnin around

We were on it a week ago today and my DD 6 first time and then we got stuck on it for 40 minutes they had to "reset" the whole "mountain" manually! My DD was really upset about 30 minutes into it and when Wishes started she was really mad! Needless to say when we got off they gave a fastpasses to get on again and she said "no way mommy"!

On Christmas 2001, my DH, oldest DS, and DD got stopped one log prior to the lift hill at the end. The water was turned off that day too (rainy and too cold Christmas Day)Youngest DS and I waited about 45 minutes for them to be escorted off. We did get FOTL passes for any ride at MK (for the whole family, not just the 3 of them). And you know you go to WDW way too much when last summer, DH and I were stopped just one log further back and also escorted off the ride at the same place!

That happend once when I was younger, I was too scared to go on Splash Mountain :rotfl: and so my mom took my sister on. The water on the hill stopped and they stopped right at the top of the hill. Some cast members had to come up the stairs and manually push them down the hill.

Was at IoA in April when we got to watch them fill Dudly Doo Right Falls, The Entire ride filled in less than 15 mins. from being completly empty!

So, if there is no water on the drop do you still get wet? I have never been on it. I can't stand being wet. I am really tempted to ride it as we are leaving the park one day so I can go straight back to the hotel to change. I really want to go on it.
If there is no water on the drop, the ride is down. You cannot go down the drop without the water. If you aren't sitting in the front you will not get totally wet. It is really a fun ride & the inside is so colorful, go on it, you will not regret it :goodvibes

Actually I've been on it a few times when there was no water on the drop. It can still go down. But it's more fun with the water.

the water on the drop is for show only. if you look there is a track that the logs go down on. the water is for looks on the drop. the ride still works.
