Spirit Cancellation Question?

We have a flight for a quick trip coming up this Wednesday--that we decided to cancel due to Irma. The problem is we basically lose the entire cost of the flight ($176) due to Spirits cancellation fees/rules--however they are offering some $20 voucher instead.

My thought is to not cancel, and wait to see if the airport is still closed on Wednesday--then I would assume Spirit would have to issue a full refund? If I'm right, this is worth the risk since $20/PP is next to nothing for cancelling early.

Our dates 'just' miss these cut-offs they posted on that link. We would have left on Wednesday the 13th--and these cut offs are for 9/11. Thank you very much tho!

Yes, just wait. If they cancel then I would assume you get a full refund.

If an airline flight is canceled, the airline is legally require to refund the money.
