It has been a while since we've flown with Spirit. I was reviewing the website and noticed that Spirit still claims that Bic lighters are not permitted under TSA rules. In reviewing TSA rules, I found they were permitted in carry-on.
We have not had an issue with bringing lighters in carry-on when flying Delta or Northwest on the past several visits. Is this simply a case of Spirit's failure to update its website OR are lighters simply not permitted by Spirit? I guess my confusion lies in Spirit's claim that it utilizes the TSA prohibited list, but also states that lighters are prohibited by TSA.
We're flying out of DTW if it matters.
