Every time an airline does something like this, 50% of the people say we are tired of being nickel and dimed to death, and why can't the airlines just put a reasonable fare out there without all the addtl fees. Then, the other 50% says that they want to be able to choose what 'extras' they want to pay for. That sometimes they may want to check two bags so they plan on paying those fees, and that it makes sense to have a lower fare but addtl fees...drinks, baggage, bp printing, extra legroom seats, preferred early boarding, etc. That way if you want to you can just pay the lower fare and get nothing addtl.
Sometimes, people don't mind the fees if they can't actually see them. But, me?? I want to know what I'm paying for. So, if the basic flight is going to be $125, but they tack on $20 for checked bags (I don't see the cost since it's in the fare), cost of beverages (again, in the fare) etc., then it's not such a big deal for them. But as soon as you start having to pay for it, oop, it doesn't much matter how low your airfare was.
Now...if you're paying top dollar for the airfare and they are still charging for just about everything, well, that's a whole different story.
