Spirit Air & cheaper flight

About a month ago, I bought 2 tix on Spirit out of AC to MCO leaving 8/24/03 returning 8/31/03 - $253.00 RT. At the time, the exact flight times I wanted out of Philly (that I purchased on Spirit) were running over $1,000.00. I've checked Spirit a few times since I bought the tix & the flight charges have been going down - not much, but for 2 tickets, depending on what day, the charges have sometimes been $60.00 lower. Can I call Spirit & request a credit to my charge account for the lower price or will they offer me a voucher for future travel? Anybody ever done this?

Yup, we did it in January, although we haven't used the credit yet. They will give you the difference in the form of a voucher to use for a future flight. The voucher is good for one year. However, you can't book the flight using the voucher online. You have to call them to book the flight, which can sometimes result in a higher price.
