Spin off pizza "discussion"

This isn't my photo but their pepperoni pizza is to die for.

Omg. I am stuck in the Midwest and haven't had decent pizza in forever. People here are into this weird cracker crust pizza and everyone loves gas station pizza and "Pizza Ranch," It is depressing for a pizza enthsiast.

That looks so awesome. If I show my husband (who is from back East) he might cry.

Please tell me that has nothing to do with Ranch dressing.

Ironically my advertisement at the bottom of this page is for something called "fit tea" for weight loss:crazy2:

That is a trend, somehow. Around here kids dip their pizza in ranch dressing. I asked DD about it and she said they started doing it in high school to disguise the taste of the nasty pizza at school, lol. Who knows.

Well - I'm somewhat partial to thin pizza that some would call "New York style", although Italian friends say that's closer to what they think of as pizza. We have a few places around here that serve that style, but just for sheer creativity I like Rotten City Pizza in Emeryville, California. Emeryville used to be an industrial town before Pixar moved in, but before then it was where there was gambling, a dog track, alcohol during Prohibition, and other assorted vices. The DA of Alameda County was Earl Warren, who called it "the rottenest city on the Pacific coast". Their logo is pure genius, combining several of the vices that made Emeryville so notorious. And yes, that's a monkey jockey on a greyhound with a carryout pizza box.

However, what's iconic around here is the Cheese Board Pizza Collective in Berkeley. They have this recipe that nobody has except for their sister collectives that are members of the Arizmendi Collectives, and they agree to not use or divulge the recipe should they leave. It's always vegetarian (a different topping each day) and the pricing is egalitarian. If you order one slice that's and eighth of a pie, it costs one-eighth the total cost of a pie. They also throw in a little bit extra from a sliver for a slice to two full slices for a full pie. It's also always vegetarian. There's never any tomato sauce. The broccoli pizza from Inside Out is kind of a composite of this type of pizza. I heard Arizmendi Emeryville had a broccoli pizza one day in honor of Inside Out.

Deluca's in Lansing, MI.

I know, Michigan you say? Yes! Their house special is so good. It's a pizza I long for.

In my current neck of the woods, the best would have to be Strong's Brick Oven. Very good, but no Deluca's.
