Spin-Off of Today's Poll: Do You and Your SO Sleep in the Same Bed?

DH and I recently (in the last 2 years -- married 32 years) got single beds, same bedroom. I toss and turn a LOT, and he wasn't sleeping well. It's okay, but it makes for challenges/less spontaneity in the boom-boom department, if you know what I mean.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I sleep in my bed at my house and she sleeps in her bed at her house. Oh, and there was a lot of money transferred in the change of things too :hyper:

DH & I sleep in a queen size bed at home. We spend a lot of time in hotels & rentals, due to his job. The room we're currently staying in has 2 double beds. We sleep in one & use the other for luggage. We're that strange couple who doesn't like King size beds, because we like to touch each other, when we sleep. If we have to book a room with a King bed, one of us has to sleep in the middle. We prefer rooms with one queen bed, but those are hard to find. We've also been know to share a twin bed a few times, if that's the only option for sleeping in the same bed.

My husband and I sleep in the same king sized bed. He does wear a CPAP and he has restless leg syndrome, but having a king bed keeps enough distance that I’m not bothered by it. I would be miserable in a smaller bed, I need my space 😀.

We sleep in the same queen bed. But, last year there was a stretch of about 6 months where one of us ended up in the queen bed in the guest room/office more often than not due to my husband's snoring. He was FINALLY approved for a sleep study and had severe apnea. He got a CPAP about 4 months ago and we've successfully slept together (in silence!) ever since.

I'd love a split king adjustable bed, though. That will be our next splurge when we move again.

I've never shared a bed and I'm not sure if I could. I've also never had an SO where I've had to worry about it. I doubt I ever will.

DH and I sleep in a King bed. Neither of us are restless sleepers, so we just stay on our sides. He does snore and I could do without that. A few months ago, he had shoulder surgery and had to sleep in the recliner in the living room for a few weeks and I did sleep better when he was out there.

Separate beds, separate rooms. It’s wonderful.

When we first got together, we shared a bed and I suffered every single night. My husband is a twitcher, his legs were jumping all night long and keeping me up. Add that to my sleeping troubles, and I was barely sleeping.

When we moved this last time, we looked for a place with two bedrooms, two bathrooms (to allow for his medical equipment).
DH is a twitcher AND a joint-cracker; not sure how he even manages to do that in his sleep but he does. Honest to God, it's like sleeping in a popcorn popper. :scared: And don't even get me started on what I refer to as "gargle-yawning". The only cure would be to smother him with a pillow.

 Less what-now? We're geezers, for Pete's sake. Spontaneity takes planning. :rotfl2:

As the youngest of 6 kids growing up in a 4 BR house, I had to share a bed with my sister until I was 12.

As an adult who is a light sleeper and prefers to go to sleep earlier, with a DH who snores and stays up later than I do, once we had the space for separate rooms the result was a better night's sleep. Hotel rooms when traveling are not conducive to good sleep for me.

Same queen bed, but believe me, I have emphasized that he has a side of the bed too for almost 33 years. :P

This is another topic for "the older I get the more I understand my grandparents" list.

Married 47 years next month, have had separate bedrooms at least 15 years. Maybe longer. I’m a light sleeper, couldn’t take DH’s snoring any longer. After he got his CPAP we tried sleeping in the same bed (queen size) again but by then we were just used to sleeping separately so we went back to that. We get 2 beds in a hotel too.

We share a queen size bed. We have always slept together except for a short time when our daughter was little and one of us used the bed in her room with her in the crib. But the way we make it work is kind of different. We sleep at opposite ends of the bed and I sleep with ear plugs.

Now I've used ear plugs since we started sleeping in the same bed. He snores. But a few years ago we got a new mattress and when I laid down normal way it felt like my head was going down, I couldn't sleep like that at all. So I switched ends and liked it better. So he sleeps normal direction and I sleep with my head at the end of the bed. We feel like we have more room this way. We even share a comforter.

We have a queen size bed and most nights DH and I sleep together. There’s a sofa bed in the office and a chaise in the master bedroom and sometimes one or another of us falls asleep there.

I sleep at the opposite end sometimes when my back is bothering me. Not sure why it makes a difference versus just turning over, but it does.
