Spin-Off of Slo's Monday Poll: Shoes - Ladies, Do You Wear Heels?

I rarely wear heels anymore. They're just too uncomfortable to bother with on a day to day basis.

I’m wearing crocs now due to some past sin(s?) I can’t articulate; must have been really bad.
Pre-stroke, it was all about 2”-3” Donald Pliner cork wedged heels. Hope to return to at least the lower heeled ones eventually.

@LoveDaisy - your DGM sounds like someone I could look up to, literally and figuratively 😎

No heels for me. I have terrible feet that pronate badly; so I don't want to twist or break an ankle. I also work from home and when I do go to the office, can dress fairly casual (ie, jeans, sneakers and shirt).

I have no need to wear them as often as I used to, but I still do wear heels when the occasion calls for it. I have a pretty extensive shoe collection. From a height perspective, I prefer a 4" heel, but have a few things in the 5-5.5" range and several in the 3-4" range. The kind of heel depends on the shoe. If it's a boot or loafer, a chunky block heel is my go-to. Pumps are usually more slender heels. Sandals depend on the theme. I have some with block heels, some with more of a stiletto heel, and of course you've got summery wedge heel espadrille types. While I recently boosted my "lifestyle" sneaker collection with three new pairs, I've seen the various heeled sneakers that have come back in trend and would kind of like something... even if it's a cheaper version from Forever 21 or H&M...although, I'd prefer the Converse Chuck 70 De Luxe. My kids think the look may be too youthful for me these days, but I have a couple of platform Pumas and recently got some platform Adidas...so I think I could probably make those others work as well.

I'm not really a heels girl. I have a couple of pairs with low-medium heals for specific outfits, but I only wear them occasionally. Sneakers for everyday wear, flats or low wedges for most of my dressier outfits.

I used to, when I was young and foolish.

Since I'd started commuting downtown, it was just a waste. I still have a couple 1 1/2 to 2 inch "heels" for when I have to play dress-up, but I think it's been a couple of years since I've worn them.

Not usually. A few times over the years for a special occasion have had to get a really fancy dress and shoes to go with it that has had a heel.

I'm so impressed by teenagers today, going to their proms in Chuck Taylors. Why didn't we do that, too!?!

I have a ton of heels that I no longer wear. I wear Skechers flats that are similar to these when I go out to something dressy.

RonandAnnenette what kind of shoes do you wear for walking vacations - Disneyland, etc. I wear good sketchers - sandals or runners. Could not handle heels for days like that.

In the summer some of my sandals have a bit of a heel as do my winter boots. I do a mix of shoes.

My younger one always wears some kind of sneakers with her formal dresses. She wore white platform (but not heeled) sneakers most recently. Last school year, she was torn between her Chucks and her Air Forces. I think the Air Forces won, but I have pics in both. She's more afraid of twisting her ankle and having to sit out for injury over something "silly" like dressing up.

No more heels for me. That was a sad loss, painfully. Arthritis in my foot and ankle put a serious crimp in my style.

NO! Maybe once or twice in my lifetime. They are stupid.
If I remember correctly, a while back you told me wearing make-up and colouring grey hair was stupid too, when we were discussing those things. :goodvibes

Runners with socks, always, for walking. I tried Crocs years ago when they were first trending, on a trip to WDW. Within an hour the bottom of my feet were blistered by the little bumps on the foot bed. I just can't understand how anybody can stand that on their bare feet.

When we went to Europe in '17, I knew we would be walking literally miles every day so I got a pair of Sketcher Go-Walks. They were comfy enough but I was actually pretty surprised how quickly they broke down, given their reputation. Nowadays my runners are from WalMart (I forget what they call their sports brand). They are nylon mesh uppers; pull-ons and they have a memory foam insole and a very decent thick sponge rubber sole and heel. Very comfy for walking and easy(ish) activities. They wouldn't serve very well for sports probably and definitely not for rugged hiking. They're super-cheap and when they get ratty I throw them away because they don't wash well. I'm on my forth or fifth pair now; getting about a year out of each.

No heels for me. Well, technically, I guess I’d have to count my pair of block heels but they don’t really count. Heels to me are the spikes and I’ve never had the balance to wear them.

NEVER. My 2 dressy shoes are a one inch tiger print slip on and a 2 inch black stack heel. This is absolutely nothing that could get me to walk in a high heel. Nothing!
