Spending the night in the Castle...

Funny, my dh had some of these same questions when we talked about this last night. He also asked (practical man that he is) if you get a refund on the room you already paid to stay in before you knew you would be staying a night in the castle? Good question, I thought!

There is absolutely no way that I could sit, idly by, in the castle while workers are cleaning and stocking below. I am German. I would NEED to help them. They badly need the help too. Has anyone seen how dusty the HM is? I cannot imagine how bad it would look with the lights on. :lmao:

Those nasty old bones just laying around POTC really should have been cleaned up many years ago ya know?? :rotfl:

How many years ago did that campground on the Jungle Cruise get trashed? Far too many and I am just the woman to deal with that. I will even bring trunks for those nude bathing elephants. For lands sake, children ride that attraction, what are they thinking?? :confused3

After I finish my work and then get all the cleaning crews names and email addys so that I can keep in touch for the rest of our natural lives I will take a few minutes to freshen up so that I can at least be the first one at the rope drop for Fantasyland. :cheer2:

BTW, do not blame it all on Goofy, I am silly not destructive.

only "Slightly" Goofy

Thanks to everyone for such a great laugh...I needed that.

As a side note, MK is actually built on the 2nd floor, on top of a huge infrastructure that allows even large vehicles to travel across hidden from guests (I got to see that area on a tour once...it was so cool!) Is there access from the Castle to those service areas? After I'm done riding Dumbo 37 times, can I go downstairs and get lost there too?

Hey, did anyone else read Kingdom Keepers? I am not so sure I want to be in the park after hours! What if the pirates and IASW dolls come to life and come after me :scared1:
I did read that and didn't think about that. Those IASW dolls creep me out in daylight, how scary are they at night????? I wouldn't mind the pirate: as long as one of them is Jack Sparrow!!!

Actually it's been my experience (yes...I was once a teenager with an annual pass) that the BEST way to get out of trouble with Disney is to blame the youngest child and make sure that child can cry on demand. :rolleyes1

My younger brother could have had a great career as an actor! Wonder why he chose law enforcement?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: OK this one has me rolling...DS, 13, wants to know why I am laughing and DD, 8, just wandered in saying Mom's on the DIS boards again! :lmao:

Another round of those Margarita's, please; this is so cool...... :cool1: , when its time for lights out, does Tink come climbing back in , there must be two apartments ?

I'm thinking we would probably get some pretty strange looks when we go lugging our suitcases up Main Streeet and into the MK to spend the night!

Only 1 question remains to be answered - where's the ice machine?

Keep them coming..............

Oh the questions!!

Will there be a trundle bed for that 5th person??

Will someone be stationed down at the bottom so my kids can get their "Tink Ink" (tatoos!)?

And even though I know I shouldn't bring up the subject - what about my refillable resort mug? I can't stay without my 29 refills of frozen Coke!

Will I be considered an offsite guest and ineligible for EMH since I'm not staying at a Disney Resort?

Is there an in-room safe, and if so why?

Will there be an extra curtain in the sink/vanity area?

And the ever important is there a coffeemaker in the room?????

What about those people who are staying there on during the 2:00 a.m. EMH? What if they are trying to sleep? Imagine the noise. Do they open the window and yell for people to quiet down?

I also wondered about honeymooners making whoopie video tapes in the castle.

"What do you mean I can't get a Castle View room? I can get that view at the Contemporary. And you call this a Deluxe room?" :thumbsup2

I love that you guys all have brains and minds that work just like mine! :confused3 crazy as we may be!

My fiance works for a subcontractor that does work at Disney World frequently. There was this time at the beginning of this year when he had to go to the Magic Kingdom at 10pm and work until 6am for several nights in a row. He said the lights stay on for a couple hours and then most of them go off except for a few strategic ones. The music does go off also. He said it was like totally creepy! There was an instance one night when all of the sudden the entire park was quiet and no music was on and most of the lights were out about 3 o'clock in the morning when all of the sudden you could hear the echo of a recording from the Astro Orbiter. I don't know exactly what it says, but he said it totally creeped everyone out!

He's going to be working grave shifts at EPCOT this week helping to install the stuff his company built for the new Finding Nemo ride. But I can't imagine the creepy factor is as bad at EPCOT as it is at the Magic Kingdom!

lmao i was trying to figure it out too i guess we will have to wait and see

I'm in the the MK at night would be creepy. Yes, my daughter and I both read "Kingdom Keepers" and the thought of Small World at night is a bit frightening.
As for the Honeymooners... I also thought about my hubby and I. We always get a "quick one" at least once on our Disney vacation. (It's usually a early morning- long shower thing.) That would be a problem for us- since we'd be very tempted. Being the few if only members of the "Castle Club".. :woohoo:

Personally, skip the night in a castle, give me a suite at the Grand Floridian..

Yeah, I would love to win just to see for myself what it would be like, but, I don't know, I could see where it might be a little creepy. I'll probably feel more like I'm spending the night in the Haunted Mansion, I don't know why. There's something so mysterious about that castle and NOT being able to go inside. I always wonder what goes on in there, and to be able to go in myself, it would just all be too surreal. I'd probably wake up feeling like it was a dream, that is if I'd even be able to sleep. But up till now the cAstle has seemed so FORBIDDEN, like, what are they hiding in there? And now they're giving you the chance to see for yourself.
I always feel like the ghosts of Disney Past are all just floating around in there looking out the windows over the crowd. I feel like if I could see through a window, I would see Walt Disney staring back at me. So, yeah, it might be a little creepy. And those thoughts combined with the deafing silence and stillness of the park Afterhours,it would definitely be an experience. I just hope it doesn't ruin that mystery though. Everyone looks at that Castle and dreams of being able to just go inside to a place no other guest has gone. But to ACTUALLY be able to do it? Does it ruin the fantasy and the dream?
Since we were kids there has always been something so appealing about things that were off-limits, so I wonder if the Castle will lose it's appeal if you're among the guests who win the chance to stay there. :scratchin
...Well, I'm interested to hear other peoples experiences if they are lucky to win this unusual contest.

:goodvibes :rotfl: :lmao: To much but the OP has some good points. What
if you want a mickey icecream treat or a dole whip as a midnite snack :lmao:

Eeek! Hope they relocate Cinderella's mice beforehand! Gives a whole new meaning to Mousekeeping!

Can't wait to see what all the people that complain about the Noise at the Value Resorts are going to say about the Noise Factor at the Castle?
:rotfl2:
