Spending my birthday in Disney! Oct 2010 PTR - UPDATED 10/11 TR STARTED

Everyone I'm traveling with looked at me like I was nuts too. Kris was like 'what do you mean you have dining reservations already?!?' People don't know, they don't understand! I'm so glad they moved it back to 180 days because it was almost impossible to get what you wanted at the 90 day mark.

I guess she'll be going to DTD everyday if she wants to eat at McDonalds! I guess cause they figure Six Flags parks have them that Disney will to?

We could be tour guides Kimmy!

Oh man...could you imagine, especially without a car? We'd be taking a bus to DTD then to a park then back to DTD for lunch and back then back again for dinner! That would be pure h-e-double-hockey-sticks! (Speaking of hockey...how are the rangers doing? )

Ugh. The Rangers lost on the last day of the season and missed the playoffs by one point. Season's over!

Due to taking a 'mental health' day yesterday (trust me I needed it, work has been getting to me a little), I gave some thought as to how I would spend my time in Disney World. I think everyone is probably going to follow my lead and those who get tired, well, not to sound mean but they can go rest at SSR and do what they gotta do! But I think everyone will be ok. I don't think they understand you have to attack a Disney park. You can't go in without some sort of plan!

DAY 1 10/4 - We haven't booked airfare yet but the flights I'm looking at get in either around 12:30 or around 3:30. We'll go to SSR and get checked in first and hoping that the room is ready, freshen up a bit and relax for a little while. Maybe grab something to eat over at DTD. Then it's off to MAGIC KINGDOM! The park is open until 10pm that night, regular time. EMH extends that til 1 AM. AWESOME! I love late nights at Magic Kingdom. When I told Adam how late it was open, his response was simply 'wow.' I'm having a hard time deciding which ride we'll do first. I'm thinking Space Mountain since it was closed for rehab during my last trip and it's a classic. What do you guys think?

DAY 2 10/5 - MY BIRTHDAY! I figured we'd sleep in a little bit (not TOO late) and head over to AK this day since that can be done in half a day. I know we need to see all the major attractions: Kilamanjaro, EE, Bug's Life, and Dinosaur. We can throw in the rapids and Rafiki's Planet Watch if time allows. I definitely want to see the Nemo or Lion King show too, so I need to allow time for that; extra if we decide on Nemo since it fills up quickly. Other than that, that park is pretty much walking around and taking everything in. I never spend a full day there. Am I missing anything? After AK, we'll go back to SSR, freshen up, and then head over to Ohana for my bday dinner! We have an ADR at 7:10. Maybe hit Jellyroll's afterward if anyone is feeling up to it.

DAY 3 10/6 - EPCOT! The park has EMH that night so I figured we can sleep in a bit rather than getting up early to make park opening. The first thing I always head toward is Soarin since that runs out of fast passes so quickly for some reason. Does anyone else understand that? Cause I don't get it. I like Soarin but I don't quite get why it's as popular as it is. There have been times by 11am that it's sold out of FPs. Anyway, TT is a must for this day and I usually skip Mission Space but if anyone wants to experience it, I guess I'll just have to suck it up! Not crazy about that ride obviously. Food and Wine Festival will also be going on so I'm sure we'll take advantage of that!!! I think that's what everyone is most excited about!

Day 4 10/7 - DHS or IOA. Day 4 and day 5 could be interchangable. Since DHS is having Fantasmic on this night, we'll say we're going there this day. This is the one park we need to get to at opening or as close to it as possible. WE HAVE TO GO ON TSM! Multiple times. That ride is awesome and I need to have the highest score of the group since I've been on it before and no one else has! That will be followed by RnRC and ToT. Gotta get the big guns done first! I'm sure we'll do the Great Movie Ride too and if we have time maybe see a show. I'm betting the boys will want to see Lights, Action, Extreme! I'd like to do the drawing class too, I had a lot of fun with that on our last trip. There's a lot to see and do at DHS so if we have to split up (I'm thinking this is going to happen in every park) so be it. If people are up for Fantasmic, we'll see it.

Day 5 10/8 - IOA. HARRY FREAKIN POTTER! Enough said. Possibly dinner at Margaritaville.

Day 6 10/9 - MK one more time. We have an ADR for Chef Mickey's at 11am. Again we haven't booked flights yet but the one I'm looking at doesn't leave until 9:30 at night so we'll have most of the day. I always make MK my first and last stop on my Disney trips. I'm happy spending the rest of the day there but if anyone wants to see or do something again in another park, that's fine by me!

I was thinking of fitting in MNSSHP but...I really don't know when I could. Thoughts on this? Based on the schedule it looks like they'd have one the 7th and 8th.

Day 1: Your estimated arrival times sound good! SO lucky the EMH is til 1am! Niiice! You NEED to ride Space Mountain first since you haven't be on in probably awhile. Honestly, I didn't notice a difference exxcept there are games you can play while you wait in line.

Day 2: Birthday Girl!! You hit all the important AK highlights, IMO. I can never spend a whole day at AK, I like it there but I'd rather be in MK or EPCOT. YAY for Ohana!! What are you going to order?

Day 3: Sleeping in is a fantastic idea this day! To honest, I'm not a big Soarin' fan and I can't understand why there are never any FP after like 2pm.. ? .... MMMM.. F&W!

Day 4: I vote DHS this day!!

Day 5: OMG OMG. Most excited for this day.. breaking out my dancing bananas because I have no words...
Day 6: Good idea to fly out late and can't wait for Chef Mickey's!!

I'm thinking Space Mountain is the way to go. It's a classic, it's fun, and I haven't been on it in almost two years! I know that they take your picture on it now. Other than that, what else is new? I tried looking for info about it on DIS but didn't really find much.

I can't wait for Ohana! There's a lapu lapu that has my name all over it!

I don't get the Soarin love. It's relaxing, I'll give it that but...what's the big deal? I always have to FP it because I cannot stand in that line for 60 min. That's one of the most boring queues in Disney.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR HARRY POTTER! We just got a big HP display in our office and I called dibs on it for when we don't need it anymore.

I had a lot of fun at MNSSHP last year but I think that's going to be pushing it if we squeeze it in. I'm all for it but I guess I'll talk to everybody and see who else would be interested. Maybe that can be a me and Kris thing since this is our first vacation. I have no problem skipping Fantasmic, I'm not a big fan, but it depends on if everybody else wants to see it too. That may be a late in the game time decision!

I love your schedule! Hmm...MNSSHP is suppose to be the best special event but you are also going to visit Harry Potter World. Would it be too much for everyone with you and is the extra money worth it for you to spend for MNSSHP? That being said you know we are going but we are not visiting HP this trip.

I would love to get the table we got last year at Ohana. It was right by the window, overlooking MK. It was great when we were able to see Wishes! They even piped in the music. AND we got to see the Electrical Water Pageant parade thingy lol.

I went to MNSSHP last year and loved it. I don't know if my group will want to spend the extra money to do it or if they'll enjoy it half as much as I did since I'm such a Disney freak. I know my sister would but the boys... I'm sure everyone would rather spend the money for Harry Potter. I went on a Universal fam through work last year so maybe I can get free tickets from them somehow. If that's the case, we may spring for MNSSHP!

I loved MNSSHP too. Lots of candy, plus the parade was amazing. But if I can't squeeze it in, oh well. If it was something I had never experienced before, I'd definitely make time for it, but I just went last year. No big deal!

I can't wait for Harry Potter!!! Usually I'm more excited about the Disney portion of the trip but this time I think I'm looking forward to Universal day more. Shhhhh. Don't tell!

Hi guys! How was everyone's weekend? We had a travel show this weekend so Saturday was spent setting that up and Sunday was the actual show. It was in the new Jet's training facility and even though I'm not a huge football fan, I've gotta say that place is pretty cool! It was a travel/bridal show so there was an emphasis on destination weddings and honeymoons. Of course Disney was there. We have a new Disney rep, her name is Eva, and she is super nice! I spent awhile talking to her, I want to ask her how she got the job with Disney because that's ultimately what I would love to do! DVC was also there and they gave a presentation on what DVC is all about. I sat in on that. I would LOVE to join DVC one day, if and when I ever have the money! There were a bunch of Disney 2010 Planning DVDs around so I snagged two. I'm planning to watch it sometime this week.

We may have a few more people on this trip! My co-worker Carol and her husband are interested in going but they wanted their own room. That wasn't going to happen in the villa. Since the DTD resorts are so close and they're more cost friendly for them, I booked them in the Regal Sun Resort which is practically right across the street from SSR. I'm not sure if they're 100% definitely going, I'll find out as the date gets closer I guess!

My cousin Chris is also interested in going but he doesn't want to go for the whole week. It's not a matter of being able to get time off, I mean it's practically 6 months away, he would just rather fly down on Wednesday. This annoys me for two reasons: 1) This is my birthday trip. My birthday is on Tuesday so he'd miss that completely. 2) Someone would have to pick him up from the airport. I don't think it's fair for us to have to drop everything to cater to him. So who knows what'll happen with that. I don't plan on bringing it up to him again. It's on him.

I did a little shopping yesterday! Not Disney shopping persay but I know what I got will most likely be worn in Disney because it's summery. I went to Old Navy and it was only two things but I figured I'd post them anyway!

I love this because it's fitted up top but flowy everywhere else. And I love the color!

This was on clearance. It was only $6! I got this thinking I could use it as a coverup when I go to the beach this summer or the pools at SSR!

I also got a pair of hoop earrings but I can't find a pic!

Hi guys! Is everybody still with me? This week went by very fast, probably because I was sick the whole week. Ugh. Monday I had off and got my front tires changed, finally! It looked like I had donuts on my car instead of tires, there was no tread. It was that bad. I don't know how I made it through the winter like that. Dangerous! Anyway, it took longer than expected so I walked home from the shop since it was nearby. It was cool out that day and I didn't have a jacket. This is probably how I got sick. Tuesday I came to work, 10-6, and around 3ish I started to feel funny. Kris and I grabbed a bite at Panera after work and I had no appetite. By the time I got home, I felt awful. Tried to come into work Wednesday; well that lasted about an hour before I came home and Thursday I called out. I had a fever both those days. Yesterday I felt better in the morning but by the afternoon, I was shot, so I ended up leaving work early again. I don't know if it's a cold or what but I've just been sleeping, taking medicine, and staying hydrated. I feel much better today except that I still have a bad cough. Being sick is no fun and I think I've used up all my sick time!

I bought a swimsuit for the summer/upcoming trip! I came home yesterday to find a VS clearance catalog waiting for me. As I was flipping through, I saw they had a PINK brand bikini on sale. $3.99 each, top & bottom! I couldn't pass that up! I'd link a picture but work blocks the VS website (that I understand!) so I can't get to it. It's black with bright blue piping and has the PINK crest all over it in different colors. With the shipping, it came out to $13.97. For VS? You can't beat that!

Oh and I'm all for your cousin not going unless he figures something out. Why would you guys have to pick him up from the airport? Does he refuse to take ME? And that's really not okay to just come the day after your birthday either. Who does that?! That just reminded me...one time I dated this guy who seriously didn't ask me to be his gf until December 26th specifically because he didn't want to be obligated to buy me a birthday present. (I didn't find out about this until later...) but seriously...people need to grow up!!

Hi guys! How was everyone's weekend? I was bummed it rained here because I was finally feeling better but I still had a pretty great weekend. Saturday I had to work and didn't really do much but on Sunday me and Kris went up to Palisades Mall which is the huge, 4 level mall with every store imaginable in it plus an IMAX theatre, bowling alley, and ice skating rink! Surprisingly, I didn't shop! We had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings (yum!) and played in the arcade at Dave and Buster's. We used all our tickets to buy candy, I have the biggest pixie stick I've ever seen at home. I'm afraid to eat it. So much sugar! We also saw Oceans, which I loved, even though the giant jellyfish were freaking me out. Uck. I hate jellyfish!

So I added my cousin Chris to our reservation. He's thinking he's going to fly out with us that Monday and come home on Thursday. It kind of annoys me he's not going to stay the whole week but I wanted to include him. He had a rough end to last year, his mom and sister both passed away within months of each other. So it'll be nice for all of us to go and do something fun together. I'm just hoping this is definite and he doesn't keep changing his mind. I hate to say it but he's a bit of a flake. We'll see what happens I guess!

I made variations of the ADRs I already have booked. I made more reservations for Ohana and Chef Mickey's for a party of 6 or 8 (if Carol and her husband decided to join us) and also kept the ADRs I already had. Once the trip gets closer, I'll cancel out the ADRs I don't need. I just wanted to have all my bases covered! I was surprised I got everything around the same times I already had. To anyone trying to make ADRs for those places in October, I apologize! I'm currently taking up 3 tables at each restaurant.

(Remember that Dillan guy...I hope he doesn't come at all now, even though he'll be living in FL. SO ANNOYING!) Oh well. I hope it works out. I really don't get why people don't want to go. I mean I know some people may not LOVE Disney World as much as us, but do they really not like it so much that staying at home would be better? It just doesn't make sense to me!!!

Anywho...that mall sounds insanely awesome! I want to go. I'm dying to get over to a Dave and Buster's. Can you believe I haven't been to one since like elementry school? I hope you're having a good week!

Good thinking about the ADRs. It makes a lot of sense to cover the bases when you don't know the exact number of people! Trust me, everyone else on the DIS would do the same!

PS- just started re-reading HP. I'm starting with #4. I want to re-read 4-7 before the movie comes out, just to brush up. Thought you'd appreciate this, fellow HP lover!
