So I'm officially on a scrapbook spending freeze because
we are going to Disneyworld in Dec!!!!:cool1: :faint:

SHHHHH it's a secret!
Anyway on to my question, I really want to scrap some of our other trips before we leave so, does printing pictures count as spending or no?

Oh and we are looking into DVC too!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

IMHO, I'd say no, it doesn't count. You don't go to a Mike's, Jo's etc. to get pictures

I agree. You have to have the photos to scrap. A spending freeze shouldn't mean a scrapping freeze:).

'Specially since you can find ways to print your photos cheaply with coupons & specials. Walgreens just had a buy 25 prints get 25 prints free (may still be going on, not sure). The internet site ones have prepurchase for as little as $0.10-$0.12 per photo and most new registrations give you free prints or free shipping.

So, no you can't go buy the new 4-pack at ACM, but you most certainly can print out photos.

PS- congrats on the next trip! Need a nanny?

When I was on spending freeze, the goal was also to actually scrap. So printing photos would be okay, also buying adhesive, and I also included very basic cardstock (black, white, red). I also knew going cold turkey wouldn't work, so if I spent less on groceries in a week, I would take $5 or so and buy something on sale.

My opinion no..... even if dh wouldn't scrap your photos (or possibly care if you scrp them) they still want to photos so just cause you are the one in control of ordering I view this as family expense. If you are looking into DVC and do not have a "friend" let me know there are discounts and stuff if your are referred by another member sometimes. If you got someone cool :cool1:

Great! You will love being a DVC member! We have been members since 1996. My husband was ready to join before they had even opened their first resort, but since I handle the money in the family, I said no for many years. I'll admit that it was the best thing we ever did.
Are you interested in Saratoga Springs or the Animal Kingdom Resort?

snapfish is always having good deals on prints, I have never ordered from them personally but my sister-n-law does all the time.

I agree with everyone else- print those pictures! And congrats on going to WDW in December!:cool1:

Well BAMB... I'm on the spending freeze too... back to school, sports, and our DISNEY trip... means no more swaps til I return.. I might offer to angel..but that is it... I'm only going to buy adhesive, limited supplies of cardstock and pictures..
No, pictures don't count against the freeze.. EVEN DH said so! So, there you have it.. authority at it's finest (sarcastically laughing!)

I'll fight you for the nanny position, AWM! I love Disney in December!

When I used to actually track my expenditures (before I let all my paperwork go to pot) I never categorized photo developing as "Hobbies." It was Household/Miscellaneous. Pictures are a vital part of life! Even non-scrappers have pictures developed!

good for you buffy! you must be so excited. i have always wanted to go in december! i would say printing pics does not count!

I use Snapfish over here all the time and they're good!

Not printing photos is just an excuse for slacking IMHO :rolleyes1

Of course it doesn't count! As long as you are using your stash for scrapping instead of buying new, I think you are doing great!

I'm pretty sure we don't have to fight for it. After all, she does have more than one child. :thumbsup2

I need 2 nannies, that would leave me and DH with 1 each and 2 for helpers. Perfect!!
LOL

I can get my prints online at Walmart for .12 each if I upload from home but being on a Mac stinks cause I can't edit first, I would have to edit in iPhoto then upload to Walmart.

AWM, I have the cart, I was looking for other people. :thumbsup2

MLP, I have a friend in mind already but if not I will definitely let you know.

M&M, we are looking at AKV. We stayed there on our very first trip and loved it!!! It is such a beautiful facility. We are the same, DH wants to join but money wise I'm like no because it would make $$ tight. But I am about to pay off my car, so that would free up the money I need However we were in an accident yesterday so I may need a new car. We'll see...
We are going to do a tour when we are there in Dec.
At this point from a financial stand point DVC will be better for us. When DD is 3 we can only stay in suites so we may as well be DVC and have laundry in the room. I spend about $40 a trip on laundry right now.

:scared1: is everyone okay? hugs :grouphug: and PD for you :wizard:

and a woo hoo for having another trip in site. We don't right now. :-(

yeah, we're good, sore but good. All the horrid details are in the AK SWap postponed thread. DS6 had to get 3 staples in the back of his head but he is such a trooper.
I was PO'ed more than anything else, cause my babies were in the car.

OYE! I just read the details ... you post all of that and then you still stay on task for the swap ... you are one awesome person!

Glad to hear that everyone is okay. Your DS cracks me up! It sounds like you a have some wonderful kids BAMB. I wish I will be that lucky when I have kids!

Buffy, sorry to hear about the car accident, glad everyones OK. I think that as long as you stay out of a craft store you are doing good! :thumbsup2

Oh and take the DVC tour when you go. They pick you up at your resort, if your staying on property in your own van. They don't take much time and after you get ice cream sundaes, pictures taken and cards with 3 anytime FP on it. We did it when we were there in July and now we are DVC members! They even have a childrens area that they can stay at when you and DH talk to the vacation guide. Than you can all tour the models if you like. It was fun. It was about an hour and a half.
