Ok, since the release of the Sept park hours and events calendar, I have a choice
Saturday (aug 30)either Spectro or Illuminations
Sunday (aug 31) either Spectro or Illuminations or Fantasmic

There is no way possible that we will be able to see all three of these events, but only two are possible. :(

Having not seen any of them, which two do you request??
(I have three kids DD17 DD13 and DS 11 fyi and DH really doesn't care which two)

HELP!....please :)

That is how I vote with the Fantasmic being the late show if two that night. Smaller crowds. If you are lucky enough to get in early stay about three rows back unless you enjoy getting wet.

I wholeheartedly agree. Fantasmic is my #1 favorite. Spectromagic is very close behind. While I do enjoy Illuminations, I do not think of it as a MUST SEE.

Good luck with your choice. Each of these shows are good so whatever you decide, you will enjoy them.

DEFINITELY FANTASMIC! Do not miss this. I like both spectro and illuminations, but must say, spectro gives me goose bumps. It creates that special magic.

I agree with everyone else, definately Fantasmic, that's my favorite show...and Spectromagic is my favorite parade...Illuminations didn't really impress me that much.

I would choose Fantasmic and Specto if I had to choose only 2.

My choices as well.

Goes to show how everyone's different. DS (20) is still talking about how great Illuminations was a month after we went. For him it was one of the top 3 items of the trip, the other 2 being RnR and TT. Thought Fantasmic was more geared to younger children and didn't see Spectro. Just one kid's opinion (I think he said he was impressed with the musical coordination-he's a music major).

Wonderfull thing about Disney; something for everyone

Definitely see Fantasmic and Illuminations. Spectromagic has never had the magic in my opinion.
Eisner PLEASE bring the MSEP back to the Magic Kingdom.

Actually, given the ages of your children, I would be willing to bet they would prefer Illuminations over Spectro.

I know this is going against the norm but I will put in my 2 cents worth anyway (which is probably worth only 1 cents:) ).

I still get goosebumps everytime I see Illuminations. The sweeping music, the fireworks in time to the music, the lazers, the fire on the lake, the globe turning all lit up. I remember the first time seeing that show, standing there for an hr. thinking, this is crazy, why are we waiting for a fireworks show, we can see this at home on the 4th of July. Man was I wrong!! I knew when that booming voice blew out those huge torches around the World showcase, I was in for something BIG. Im getting goosebumps just writing about it. My advice, go see it, with kids that age, they will appreciate it. Get a good view of the lagoon
with no trees.

Spectromagic is good and definitely worth seeing, but standing around a bunch of hot sweaty people to get the best view for an hr., no way is it worth that. Reason: cause yall will be getting hot and sweaty too. My advice on this one, if you can catch it as it is just beggining, watch it, but dont wait around for it. Your 11 yr old will probably like it, but the others will be ready to go.

Opt for Fantasmic instead IMHO. Get a Fantasmic dinner package so you dont have to wait so long to get a seat. This way you can get dinner, go see some attractions while everybody else is waiting to get into the show. This will buy you an hr. of time at least. We did Mama Melroses. Their brickoven pizzas are wonderful.

Main thing have a good time! You know your family best and their likes and dislikes so you will be the best judge. You will be making memories of a lifetime. :)

I definately would say Fantasmic. We loved that 2 years ago and we will make sure we make it again this year.

But now I'm confused about Spectro and Illuminations. Not sure which to do. We were going to do an Illuminations cruise but now I'm not sure. Any thoughts?

My choices (and my kids) would be Fantasmic and Illuminations. Illuminations gives me goosebumps every time. Last time we watched it, my dd, 5 at the time, said "Mommy that show is so good it almost made me cry". That's my girl!

We have done the Illuminations cruise twice. It is wonderful, and I highly recommend it. I love all of the night time shows, but if I had to pass on one, it would definitely be Spectro. While I like the parade, the other 2 shows are above and beyond any fireworks show or parade. Plus, waiting for a parade at the MK is a pain--no matter how early you get your spot, some rude person has to come and stand in front of you, or squish in beside you--it just does not happen at the other 2 shows--at least it has never happened to us.

My two favorites are Fantasmic and Illuminations. Fantasmic is wonderful and Illuminations is very stirring.

Without a doubt, Illuminations is the show to see! I love it so much I had to buy the soundtrack, and I listen to it just about every day in the car. Fantasmic isn't bad, we were blown away the first time we saw it. But we went to see it a 2nd time on another trip, and it just didn't have the same "magic". Spectromagic will never be the MSEP.

Here's another Illuminations vote. I love, love, LOVE this show. I'm working on my itinerary for my Sept trip and I believe I have Illuminations scheduled for 7 nights in a row. I never get tired of seeing it. My second choice would probably be Fantasmic for a couple of reasons. 1) it's more of a show and I find it very entertaining, especially the water spray screens 2) you get an actual seat and don't have to worry about people coming in 10 minutes before the show and standing right in front of you. I like Spectro, and will probably see it next trip just because I haven't the last 3 trips. But it says something that I haven't seen it on the last 3 trips
